Good Books

I read he’s book before - the story about the Mary from Dunloe :joy:

Very interesting book. Unreal level of research gone into it. Not a complex read

That looks a good recommendation. I will get that one.

I’ll give it a read as well…not that I’d even expect to make the price of the book back.

Main lesson iv taken from it is it would be impossible now to do what buffet did back then

Have you read Benjamin Graham’s book, The Intelligent Investor? It was a massive influence on Buffet.

Read it 20 years ago at least. Principles remain completely valid. It’s a different world now though and so much more information available

Did you ever finish it mate?
Probably the weakest of his novels but that’s not really a criticism, still a brilliant book.

Joey Bartons book makes a welcome change from the usual football autobio, superbly written (Michael Calvin but the voice is definitely Joeys) and very honest about his mistakes and failings as a person, interesting insight into Pardew, Hughton, Keegan and Mike Ashley in particular, seems to know his stuff re politics etc but I have no real interest in British current affairs so I skimmed over a lot of that. Good read though.

I’ve half it read. Hoping to get to finish it Saturday evening. The writing is brilliant but the story a bit meh.

I believe the whole book is just one long rambling introductory chapter

He’s getting very like the father.

Getting paid for writing scutter?
