I watched both ‘Stand by Me’ and ‘Drive’ for the first time in the last two days.
Both excellent and I was mindblown to discover Will Wheaton (Wheeeeeeeeeeton!) was on the main kids in Stand by Me.
It reminded me of Sleepers without the buggery to a large extent. Very similar feel.
Drive was absolute gold, great plot, soundtrack, photography and acting. Gosling was immense, I’ve never really like him in anything prior to this. Well worth the watch.
I also watched ‘Inception’ for the first time since I saw it in the cinema and, if anything, I was more impressed this time. An absolute classic.
No, only a tard would read that meaning into what I posted.
Far from it. A wonderful little romp in keeping with previous Jones’ films. All that was wrong was that those who were fans of the previous went in with rose tinted glasses. In due course, Crystal Skull will be viewed in line with the previous three. All in time.
No it’s fucking dire. Up there with the three Star Wars prequels in how bad it was. Awful story, awful effects and that goddawful Shia La Puff starring as well.
Coming from a man who only just watched Stand By Me and didnt even know Will Wheaton was in and a guy who uses Shia La Puff, I’ll pass on your opinion.
As I said, in time.
And the 3rd prequel was a fine film, easily on a par with 2 of the original 3.
The vast majority of those looking forward to Crystal Skull only became familiar with the series due to constant christmas or holiday showings. It was a beloved friend from a childhood era and as such it was forever going to be a nigh on impossible job to match up to these roae tinted expectations.
While Crystal Skull falls slightly short of mcguffin and enjoyment of its predecessors I believe it by no means warranted the criticism it took on its release. we have even had one person here describe it as worse than Avatar FFS, complete OTT stuff.
it is my firm belief that in time, with inevitable repeat showings, Crystal Skull will be looked on with far more fondness than now being the case.
If i’ve ever deliberately started a movie and not finished it then i can’t remember when the last one was, in fact i don’t think i have ever done it. But i am not watching this ‘Rock of Ages’ to the end. Turning it off after struggling through almost 50mins. It is a car crash. It’s the worst film i’ve ever experienced.
