Saw Life of Pi last night, really enjoyed it. Recommend the 3d as I really enjoyed the visuals in it and think the 3d added to it. I don’t understand some peoples hatred of 3d.
Watched that a couple of years ago. Absolutely brilliant. Banderas was superb in it.
Watched Fantastic Mr. Fox yesterday, the Wes Anderson film…very very funny and hugely entertaining fare.
I watched Bad Teacher again last night. Great show. Cameron Diaz is exquisite. City of God is a great film. Diva and Le Flic are two French greats, and the three colours trilogy. Pan’s Labyrinthe is a great film. I love Pitch Black, and The Chronicles of Riddick for some reason. The last Star Trek film was mighty as well.
He made a great job of that, very funny film. His style hasn’t gotten old yet, I find all his films very enjoyable. Moonlight kingdom was excellent.

One of my favorite ever films. Up on Youtube now. Superb. Just make sure you have a few drinks to hand.
It’s his only film I haven’t seen yet now. Every one is a classic. Life Aquatic probably being my favourite.
I posted about Fantastic Mr Fox a few months ago. Really enjoyable film. Agreed about Was Anderson, great films. The Life Aquatic is excellent - nearly every bit of dialogue in it is both funny and poignant. Have yet to see Bottle Rockts but am told it is excellent as well
It’s a very enjoyable watch but he’d yet to really perfect his style so don’t be expecting a lost masterpiece or anything. Fairly low-key. Good oul film, having said that.
You summed up his flicks well with “funny and poignant”. For me, anyway, he has this weird way of invoking nostalgia, humour and life-affirming hope for the future in almost every scene.
Went to Les Mis earlier with my female friend. It’s enjoyable for what it is. I knew nothing of the story before hand and it did feel a tad long but as a show on the big screen it was entertaining. Of course my one balled, and when the lights came on it was clear she wasn’t the only one…crazy bitches.
Downloaded the Lord of the Rings trilogy the other day as i have only watched each film once and that was years ago when each one came out first. I remember the thinking the first one was brilliant, thought the second one was poor and the third one middling. Hopefully my opinions have changed over time, probably had too high expectations after the first. Anyway, one down again and enjoyed it. It’s a great film, most films nowadays are shit but that is a proper one where you feel like you are getting your money’s worth.

[/quote]Were you out with lance? I thought he was with oprah.
Watched Django Unchained last night. Smashing return to form by Tarantino and a proper Western. Foxx, DiCaprio and the German guy from Inglorious Basterds (whose name escapes me) all excellent. Cracking dialogue and even though it’s 2 hours 45 mins it zips along.
9/10.
You might have to flesh that out a little, pal.
Christopher Waltz? Watch The Matrix last night on TCM.One of the best sci-fi films.
Must go to that…and Les Mis and The Hobbit I suppose. These are starting to back up.
Watched looper the other night.
Very good show. Joseph Gordon Levitt is a great actor.
I have ‘undefeated’ downloaded meant to be very good also…
“They’re taking the hobbits to Isengard”.
Only ever saw the first Lord of the Rings and didn’t enjoy it. Not my type of thing.
they are a bit too long. and repetitive. watched the first one. the other two seem to turn up on TV a couple of times a year and I have ended up watching bits of them. Kate Blanchett and Ms Tyler are lovely however.
In lots of ways you’d have to be a fan of the books to sit through them. Even then you are picking holes in it… I’m a Tolkien nerd so I love the lot of them.
