Good Fillums

totally agree…thought he was outstanding…good but crazy film…
volatile chracters and drugs just don´t mix…:frowning:

Saw it tonight-agreed on everything. It’s very good and McEvoy is excellent.

The Iceman is well worth a watch,Michael Shannon is a quality actor!

I also thought McAvoy was tremendous in Filth but I wasn’t too gone on the film itself and felt McAvoy’s performance carried it. The book was magnificent but, I dunno, I felt Jon Baird got the tone a bit wrong. Seemed to ham it up unnecessarily throughout - the humour shines through in the book despite the darkness. Maybe I’m wrong - I’m not a film aficionado. I do think Joanne Froggatt - ex Coronation Street - is a really lovely lady though.

Watched it last night co-incidentally. The documentary about him is very good as well. Robert Kuklinski. There are hours of interviews recorded with him and they are chonicled in the documentary.

He was the epitome of evil. Killed over 100 people. All the while maintaining a very placid normal suburban life fathering 3 kids in the process.

Ya I watched the 1991 interview with him straight after fuckin unreal.“I liked him…I really liked liked him actually!” proceeds to shoot his good friend 5 times at point blank range, hack off his leg and dump him in a barrel!

Yea, he put the barrel outside a diner and went there everyday for a few months and then one day it disappeared. Mental stuff.

The bit about the guy begging for his life and giving him a half an hour to pray to God for an intervention was the act of a devil.I guess God was busy was his response upon killing him.

Old boy…crazy stuff

Blackfish, interesting enough…re killer whales in captivity

Fucking hell. How did this guy act normal and fit in in the rest of his life???

He used to get 5 figure sums of money for each hit. Sometimes if someone looked at him the wrong way he’d kill them too. Literally.

He masqueraded as a currency trader. Used to go around wearing a suit and 3/4 length jacket. He killed using Cynide, strangulation, guns, knives. he had a warehouse where he would freeze bodies and then either dismember them or throw them away.

One of the most evil monsters of all time.Showed no remorse except for legacy he left his family.

The Goonies on RTE now, must have seen it twenty times by now but always enjoyable.

Any views on world war z. Rottentomatoes gives it 67 same as the iceman. Any other recommendations for new movies on iTunes?

No idea what’s on iTunes. Watched This is the End yesterday. Quite funny.

Ended up watching world war z. It was ok - standard blockbuster movie. Enjoyable while it is on but ultimately it is a series of set pieces that slot in or out without effecting the plot

Not comparing like with like But the quality of the big TV shows and their ability to have slow character development and interlacing plot arcs means movies find it difficult to compete because it has to be wrapped up in under two hours. Can’t remember a movie I have enjoyed recently as much as I have enjoyed Mad Men, Boardwalk Empire, early 24 or Breaking Bad.

Just after watching Lethal Weapon 6.

It was brilliant.

Watching the Sound of Music here. What a super movie.

Watched Mary Poppins there. I think I’m in love with Julie Andrews. Jaysus what a beautiful woman.

Would you let her wash your her in return for her letting you listen to her taking a piss?

I think so.

Prisoners is utter shit.
