Good Fillums

12 Years a Slave.

5 out of 5.

Absolutely superb.

Similar to Schindler’s List, the film is not so much about the plot but more a depiction of absolute horrors that have occurred during the time of the human race.

Superbly acted, particularly by Chiwetel Eljiofor, superbly and beautifully shot and just generally superbly made.

The best film I have seen in a long time.

I haven’t seen the film myself but I’m sickened by it too.

Why would I be sickened mate?

Because you’re constantly surly.

Good I thought. Gripping right up until the end. Saoirse Ronan is going to be some star - she probably already is.

Great soundtrack by the Chemical Brothers too.
Watched this last night and enjoyed. Grand easy watch with some great fight scenes and a great soundtrack. Clips along at a fine pave as well

Cape Fear on ITV 4.

Max Cady is a supreme WUM.

The Conversation on Sky Select, Enemy at the gates on Film 4+1 and the Missouri Breaks on TCM. All on now. That’s good films.

There’s a de Niro flick from 1989 on the telly tonight, Jacknife. Anyone seen it?

Went to see Calvary last night-I enjoyed it a lot. Some bad points in that it was shot a little too much like a Failte Ireland advert and it is pretty slow at times but overall a good movie. Gleeson is, once again, superb although there is an unnecessary and fairly poor appearance by his son for one scene. It is very dark and not as funny as The Guard so there’s a good chance that anyone who didn’t like the Guard will not like this.
Rocko, given that I’ve read every article, every affidavit (in full) of his teammates in the Reasoned Decision and am a committed reader of The Clinic on cyclingnews forums, should I bother with this or just wait for it to be on the telly?

That docu about Kimmage should be out soon enough and that’s the 2014 cycling doc I’m most looking forward to.
I spent a lot of time in the clinic for a spell, but they just cast everyone as a doper. *

 • This may well be true.

Despicable me 2 is excellent. 9/10 minimum.

Speed on Sky One now. 20 years ago it came out.

“Pop quiz, hot shot.”

What do you do Jack? What do you do?

Watched Cinderella man over the weekend randomly. A great film, actually a really enjoyable one. Not sure those two things are quite the same.

Reservoir Dogs on TG4 now

Am I the only professional here?

Watched the Lego Movie. What the fuck was all the hype about this film for? Dung.

Good article on the Shawshak Redemption here
