Good Fillums

12 years in the making and over 2 and half hours of watching but went by like a light breeze. From the same lad who made Dazed and Confused and the Before Sunset trilogy. If you like them you’ll love this, otherwise probably best to give it a miss. Although his stall is well and truly set out at this stage Linklater is the most daringly ambitious and also the most reassuring film-maker out there today
A very ambitious film, ill grant you that but also featured some of the most pretentious dialogue ever committed to celluloid. A great idea, some fantastic performances but awful dialogue

What did the board think of interstallar? Got pretty ropey towards the end, and it’s not a great masterpiece or anything, but I really enjoyed it.

An Indian chap from one of my morning conference calls mentioned that it was very enjoyable.

I agree. He seems like a smart cookie KP.

Thought it was dynamite up until the last 20 minutes. Haven’t a fucking clue what went on in the ending. The one part with the first planet is a mindfuck. I saw the imitation game recently, thought it was great. Im far less cynical than i used to be. There seems to be a swing towards more thoughtful films over action films lately.

A colleague recently told me he watched an episode from coronation street from the 70s or something, and that the dialogue was actually impressive and verbose, that todays tv3 style chav culture has ruined it. Is Hollywood joining the likes of aaron sorkin in rebelling against the spread of stupidity? Supposedly predictive text has cured most kids of text speak i heard recently also which i found interesting.

Bandage correctly clamped me already on this one for pretensious bs so I’ll leave it at this, Patricia Arquette won’t win an Oscar for this but she should. She really, really should.
I went to see '71 last night in the Light House. I would really recommend it for anyone who has an interest in the Troubles.
The sense of tension is nearly unbearable in it at times but it is fantastically made. Great performances too.
Would love to see this but no torrents for it.

Rat Race on Film Four +1 now.

It’s a race, I am winning!

‘2001 - A Space Odyssey’ in the Lighthouse last night. Absolutely epic on the big screen :clap:

The Drop with James gandalfini and Tom Hardy is worth a watch. Gandalfini’s last bit of work :frowning:
