Hot Fuzz on RTÉ, cracking film.
Did somebody recommend “In Order Of Disappearance” on here.
Well worth a look, if the ending was a bit strange.
Watched Dirty Harry there on TCM last night. Cracking movie.
Fucking hell!
Over 70 of the cast and crew were injured during the production of this film. Cinematographer Jan de Bont had his scalp lifted by a lion, resulting in 220 stitches. Tippi Hedren received a fractured leg and also had scalp wounds. This occurred after an elephant bucked her off its back while she was riding it. She was also bitten in the neck by a lion and required 38 stitches. This incident can also be seen in the film. Melanie Griffith (Hedren’s daughter) was also attacked, receiving 50 stitches to her face; it was feared she would lose an eye but in the end the wound was not disfiguring.[4][5] Noel was attacked so many times that he eventually was diagnosed with gangrene. In one of those incidents, he was clawed by a cheetah when protecting the animals during a bushfire that occurred in 1979. All animals were evacuated, though it took several years for him to recover from his injuries.[6] Due to the injuries, turnover was high as many did not want to return to the set. Some of the lions also suffered from illnesses that reduced their population.[7][8][9] John Marshall was bitten by one of the lions and required 56 stitches.[10] His brother Jerry was bitten in the foot while wearing tennis shoes. He later jokingly said the lion had a “tennis shoe fetish.”[11] Assistant Director Doron Kauper had his throat bitten open, his jaw was bitten, and one of the lions attempted to rip an ear off. He was also injured in the head, chest, and thigh. Although it has been reported that the attack nearly proved fatal,[12] the Santa Cruz Sentinel on July 9, 1978 printed a quote from a nurse saying his injuries were acute. He was also reported as being conscious and in a fair condition.[13]
Anyone seen anything daycent recently? Want to try out my Show box app on me new tablet.
New Thomas the Tank Engine out yesterday - anyone been to see it yet? Going on Sunday, hoping those dastardly Diesels don’t cause too much confusion and delay.
Just watched Ex Machina. Pretty interesting. Domhnall Gleeson is good in it.
Yea an interesting enough film, very well made. Yer wan Alicia Vikander is some bit of gear. Fassbender is knocking her off now, he knows his shit does Michael. She’s in the upcoming Man From U.N.C.L.E.
That was my first time coming across that lady and I am smitten. She is amazing.
Watched Mandela: Long Walk To Freedom recently. Found it good enough if a little bit boring at times and overly political in places. Apparently it’s a true story.
Caught ‘Love and Mercy’ at the Lighthouse over the weekend. Biopic on the life of Brian Wilson from the Beach Boys. Excellent performances all round (esp from Paul Giamati) and the whole story of Brian not going on tour with the band so he could write Pet Sounds was great.
Wouldn’t need to be a fan of Wilson/Beach Boys to enjoy it. Highly recommended.
I watched Side Effects yesterday. The missus recommended it to me, as I sat at home depressed out of my fucking head after a solid 72 hours drinking.
I’m beginning to think she’s an evil genius. I was too engrossed in it before I realised it was about a suicidal, depressed, psychotic bitch who would funnily (not funny) enough spend last night crawling around my ceiling with a knife stuck in her neck.
Daycent. But don’t watch in the throes of alcohol induced FEAR.
They seem to have a Clint movie on every Monday night. The Good the Bad and the Ugly was on the other night as well.
I’m interested in watching a good film at home tonight. No specific genre in mind. Could a nice boy on TFK recommend a good one for me to watch?
Force Majeure.
or perhaps Whiplash
I thought whiplash was fantastic.
You’re not taking the piss?
Nope. First one is funny and suspenseful and generally just very good. Second one is plain very good.
Is your good lady joining you, pal?
