Good Fillums

Totally, it was an utterly shit film.

Have a look at “order of disappearance” on Netflix.

Yes.

I wasn’t expecting the ending in that one.

Ended up watching Black Mass. Meh.

Give whiplash a shot next time, pal.

Will do, chief.

BUMP - a fantastic take on the revenge flick

Inside Out. Not what I expected, not sure what I expected, but it cut me to the core. When on their game, Pixar are untouchable.

I was very disappointed with it.

Young 'un’s been sick this past few days. He watched that and Mary Poppins. Has asked for Mary Poppins again, but not Inside Out.

RottenTomatoes review: splat!

Chaps, I want to watch a recently released film on my Apple TV. Could you please recommend a good one? I watched Sicario last week and didn’t think it was as great as reviews generally suggested but I haven’t seen (m)any other recent releases.

It’s on the watchlist for tonight - thanks pal. Trailer reminds me a lot of Headhunters.

Out of curiousity what were you expecting that you were disappointed? Felt some of the father daughter scenes were ridiculously on the money. I could have been rid of that fucking imaginary friend a bit earlier mind you.

More characters would have helped. Toy Story has a great wide cast, there are some peripheral characters in this you don’t see much of. And the closing credits thing at the end was an example of how it might have applied to other human characters.

I’m struggling to put this in words that seem sensible but I didn’t think it was as realistic/authentic as their other work. The tower of boyfriends thing was a weak device for an important plot moment and there was too much stock placed on the islands without them ending up with any relevance.

I thought it was alright but some concepts were better than the execution.

A legal download or something available ahead of time? I’m fairly sure I told you not to get an Apple TV so I hope this was acquired in your union with your girlfriend.

Illegal, legal - I don’t care. It was her Apple TV, but it’s ours now. We’ve decided on Whiplash from 2014 pending a recommendation from you which stops us in our tracks.

Go ahead with that. I recommended it to you before.

Whiplash was excellent i thought. I saw steve jobs last week, enjoyed it immensely. Sicario was shite the more i think of it.
