I have to admit, it will taint any opinion @glasagusban may post on any subject for quite some time. His credibility/sanity has taken a serious dunting
Fair enough. You have to temper expectations a bit. I think for the extremely low budget independent film that it was it was really nice and I got more laughs out of it than I did out of Don’t Look Up which was shit and unfunny from start to finish. Put the two in context in terms of budget and what they produced and you see why deadly cuts is great. It’s incredibly hard to get films like that made and getting picked up by Netflix is a big success for itself.
Some very good french films on Netflix. Cant remember the name of them mind.
The loss of Esteban, then the loss of our resident Italian. Now the fall of Glas?
I’m at a loss.
I had never seen nor heard of Manchester-by-the-Sea before. A top, top motion picture.
The younger Affleck is by far the more talented.
Watching Belfast seemed a mundane way to spend two hours to me.
Awful script, poor acting, self indulgent drabness, with a great soundtrack.
I really wanted to like it, but couldn’t.
I think they are both very talented. Just different. Ben is very rarely in a bad film.
Casey plays pretty much the same character in everything.
Sing 2 is brilliant for the TFK. Dads
Bono has a significant role in it but don’t let that put you off, it doesn’t sound like him, I don’t know what the story is with that actually
Great kids movie though
Mentioned this in another thread. Went last week for the little wan’s first full cinema movie. We all thoroughly enjoyed it. Mercury Rev on the soundtrack too.
Acting?
The scene where he bumps into his ex wife is devastating, incredible acting. It’s a tough movie to watch yet superb.
The scene where he’s being interviewed by the cops is another one.
It’s a low key, understated kind of movie which makes these scenes more powerful imo. But there’s great humour in it as well. Some of the scenes between Affleck and the nephew character are hilarious.
It’s a relatable movie to the average family man, too close to home for some(I don’t mean to go there). A devastating film
She’s a wonderful actor. That scene would pull your heart out.
The character of Clay Calloway sounds nothing at all like Bono, even when he’s singing Bono’s song, I was really surprised when I saw it in the credits. I wonder why he didn’t use his own voice??
Because he was acting? And wasn’t supposed to sound like an Irish cunt?
I seen it a few weeks ago,I didn’t even know that cunt was in it.Its a great movie tbf.Its very seldom these days that the whole family can sit down and enjoy a good movie.
Looks fairly depressing.
It is. I turned it off and deleted it after a while. Wasn’t for me.
