Frank Costanza manning the despatch box here.
A great film, really captures the grime and filth of 70s New York. Great jazzy soundtrack too.
Cash be Jaysus
You’re probably aware pf this but Shaw lived out his later years in Tourmekeady in Mayo where he was generally regarded as a sound cunt by locals. And as usual tg4 have made a daycent documentary covering same.
Chalk that down in the things I learned today thread.
The Sting is one of the best films ever made.
The Sting is a gem of a film. Do ye folla?
Shaw had an indoor squash court in his house and he used to let the locals (including my father in law) use it.
Good Time with Robert Pattinson is good. If you liked Uncut Gems you’ll like it - similar sort of a film about life’s fuck ups/people who were dealt a bad hand in life
Is it as stressful? I was a ball of anxiety after uncut gems
It has that same sort of claustrophobic intensity
I just read they were directed by same people
I watched it on recommendation of my 13 year old who is a particularly harsh critic of anything TV or film related.
Uncut Gems was a very stressful watch
Saw it. Enjoyed it too. Brothers kind of reminded me of the O’Reilly brothers in the show Oz.
That production house A24 has had some very good releases.
Brilliant movie
I don’t remember hearing about this one when it came out in 2016.
Looks good.
Can’t find it anywhere if anybody knows a source???
Try your local Xtravision?
It was on rte last nt maybe on the player
Thanks!
I drove down there now but it’s a bloody Apache Pizza.
I revisited Prometheus and Alien Covenant last night, class films
Truman Show on TG4.
A great fucking movie. Underrated
Hustle is a great flick.
