Fanny by Gaslight is a cracker too.
Hunger was also excellent.I mind @farmerinthecity thinking that the fashion designer McQueen was the director and not the film director McQueen. An easy enough mistake tbf.
At least 4 of them are rubbish
Which 4?
The acting in parts was cat… The nan saying she’ll sleep in the chicken coop cracks me up every time.
The Field is hard bet.
The Field is a classic alright, wasn’t naming ones already named.
A very Oirish fillum,pure scutter

Gangs of new york???
The GOAT
The boxing one with daniel day lewis in belfast was class too
Indeed.
I saw McQueen’s Shame which I thought was brilliant and went back then to Hunger. Excellent film.
Best Irish film for me is easily The Field.
Day Lewis’s performance in My Left Foot is one of the all time greats.
Lenny Abrahamson is a brilliant director in my view. Adam and Paul, Garage and even What Richard Did. Room is a masterpiece in my opinion.
I was never a fan of the McDonaghs. Whatever about Martin, the brother’s effort with The Guard was truly awful. The clips from I have seen of Banshees wouldn’t fill me with confidence but I will hold off until I see it properly.
A mess of a film.
