Good Fillums

@caulifloweredneanderthal have you seen Friendship?

Tim Robinson doing Tim Robinson things - like a 95 minute ITYSL sketch - off the wall at times, laugh out loud at other times. Good watch

Looking forward to it bud but haven’t sat down to it yet.

Kubrick set up shop in the Ardree hotel overlooking the city. He booked the entire top floor of it for months. After a while he got a call purportedly from the IRA threatening that he would be shot if he didn’t leave Ireland. He folded his tent and left immediately. Shame really. The Island Lane, Ballinakill Downs and what became Blenheim Heights were the principal locations used in Waterford.

Finally saw “Final Reckoning”, the worst MI after number 2 (which was straight awful from beginning to end). First hour was loathsome and the rest had some great action but still needed a huge amount of editing.

MI2 was shocking. And its reshoots ruined Dougray Scotts career because it prevented him playing Wolverine.

TBF Hugh Jackson was born to be Wolverine.

He was but we’re not to know if Scott was also. And Jackson was only an aul singer and dancer at that time in Oklahoma!

Finally got round to watching “Grave of the Fireflies” - extremely upsetting. Definition of a movie you need to watch once, and want to never watch again.

The Penguin Lessons with Steve Coogan is very good.

Anuja, a 20 minute film on netflix is a beautiful little film.

Watched the Great Gatsby (1974 version) on Sky Movies last night. Good owl :owl: picture, but Mia Farrow was an awful ham of an actress.

Watched Paper Moon last night. Hadn’t seen it before. Enjoyed it.

I’d say I haven’t seen that in 50 years.

I thought it was great bar the ending which decided to lean into the silliness, unnecessarily. The scattered Jimmy references were cool. Great tension throughout. Boyle brilliant at showing the human civilization as being warped and menacing and not much of a sanctuary from the zombies.

A classic, big Randy Quaid wrasselling for the car :smile:
