Crespo and Thuram arrived there after that time too. I’ve heard they won a couple of cup competitions but why did they not perform better in Serie A/Champions League?

In the mid to late 90’s? Runners up and 3rd place were entering by that stage. Remember reading somewhere that Fiorentina knocked Arsenal out of the Champions League in 98/99.

Fiorentina had a great team around then. Toldo in goal. Torricelli at the back, Rui Costa in MF and Batigol up front. I seem to recall them beating Arsenal and United in the champions league around 2000.
