Still moaning about 94-96?
Ken McGrath picked a while back ahead of Curran was just criminal and those LK simpletons just never learn.
True. Whenever Tipp aren’t drinking, fighting and generally messing around, they’ve always had Kilkennys number.
Ken McGrath played mostly in the half forward line for the first 8 seasons of his inter-county career, 1996-2003. I’d have picked him on my starting XV in the half forward line, if he had been selected there. Some of the performances he delivered there over the years, such as the 2002 Munster FInal were just incredible.
Fergal Hartley was Waterford centre back (and a very good and reliable one) for over a decade, up to his first retirement at the end of 2003. Ken McGrath only went centre back in 2004. He was excellent there (as he was everywhere, he was selected) over four seasons from 2004-07. He didn’t have a particularly good season in 2008, the year that team finally made an All Ireland Final. Injury and illness were catching up on him at that stage. He was pretty much past his best after 2007 and in his final two seasons 2009 & 2010, he was sadly reduced to bit part roles.
Kings of the one in a row
I’d take it
Future is not so dim so
Rod Guiney, Liam Dunne, Larry O’Gorman in 1996.
Guiney looked the weak link but completely shut DJ out of lots of games.

Lock the thread
How would Byrnes, Hannon and Hayes fare against Hegarty, Lynch and Morrissey?
How would Byrnes, Hannon and Hayes fare against Hegarty, Lynch and Morrissey?
It’d be like nuclear fusion.
