Some lovely first time pulls and wild swings there.
And a lovely head butt on Ray Cummins
And some classic old school Clare bellyaching.
Mullanes hat trick. Mullanes two fingers to the Cork crowd.
Corks Munster title.
They should bring back the small bas

Ah fuck it, it was an awful pity Mullane retired early when he had another few good years still in him.
He broke my heart a few times - 2011 in particular - but the game needs characters like that, rather than cliched robots. Great player, gave him dogs abuse on the terrace at Thurles a few times and that’s probably the biggest compliment you can give any player.

He loved giving it back as well - the 4-13 draw back in 03 I think?? He was getting plenty that day and giving it back goodo.
He killed us in the replay in 2009 too. Fired over a rake of points that day.
I never had any problem with him giving some back.
I watched that 2003 Munster final in a pub abroad and the whole place erupted when he gave the cork crowd the two fingers.
If I remember correctly, that clip is from the video “Simply Red - 25 years of Cork hurling 1975 - 1999” which was released around the turn of the millennium.
This is more a highlight reel than a video @Fagan ODowd - but Cork v Limerick 2001. That shoulder from the rock, the line ball by Barry Foley, the father and son celebrating in the crowd after the game with the father in tears… I love Ollie Moran’s point around 2.10 in.
Was that the day he had the brain fart and hand passed the ball into an empty net?
The best match I was ever at and this is a good video on it.
I remember being in Thurles rattling from drink the same day. Was never as emptied as I was after this match.
Tis an awful shame that Honan never managed to get a spell injury free at senior level after 2009. He is nowhere near as agile/pacey as he was then
Yup - he was just back from that suspension no tv cameras in thurles that day too
My grandfather told me many times about this game, his nephew was midfield, Mick Moroney.
Enda O’Connor the nippy forward would be Pat O’Connors Dad I’d say.
Sneaky cork cunts

He still has time. Clare’s system doesn’t entirely suit him, he’s still incredibly difficult to shut down at corner forward.
