Great movie scenes

Hmmmm…

Raging Bull opening sequence

The first scene is the original from LA takedown which Mann would later remake under the title Heat!

That’s class, had never seen that before. How do you think that scene compares to the remake?

Tremors was on 3E last night. I love that film, and this is the best scene in it.
I especially love when the camera pans back to reveal the gun wall after Burt and Heather run out of ammo after the first few shots.

“Broke into the wrong god damned rec room didn’t you, you bastard”
Class

Well since Mann was over both the script is pretty much the same,to be honest i think the original does a better job at pulling off this scene as the two big boys in Heat seemed to be trying to out act each other!LA takedown is actually good i think the whole thing can be viewed on youtube.

I find Pacino to be far too Ricky Roma in the ‘Heat’ scene. De Niro is good though.

speaking of mann originals

Usual Suspects, the reveal

Great call Croppy, reminds me of this

An exceptionally brilliant scene from Network

"Right now, there is a whole, an entire generation that never knew anything that didn’t come out of this tube! This tube is the gospel, the ultimate revelation; this tube can make or break presidents, popes, prime ministers; this tube is the most awesome goddamn propaganda force in the whole godless world, and woe is us if it ever falls into the hands of the wrong people, and that’s why woe is us that Edward George Ruddy died.

You’re beginning to believe the illusions we’re spinning here, you’re beginning to believe that the tube is reality and your own lives are unreal! You do! Why, whatever the tube tells you: you dress like the tube, you eat like the tube, you raise your children like the tube, you even think like the tube! This is mass madness, you maniacs! In God’s name, you people are the real thing, WE are the illusion!"
