yeah i agree, the fact that this dialogue was shot in one take w/o a break is staggering.
a tremendous take from a very good film.
this scene for me exposes how illogical Sandsā hunger strike plan was and the stupidity of the whole republican ideal at the time, in my opinion Sands and his people never ever wanted peace, their ego was created on the culture of violence and w/o it they would never have prospered, unfortunatly he was willing to take his own life and by his actions cause an escalation of violence that would take many more for the pursuit of his ideals
Donāt agree with this, think he wanted peace alright, just knew he had to die to get people to stand up and take notice.
I agree they seemed to have no great plan and trudged from event to event, but i think he was definitely genuine. A true hero in my book. There were many others who let him and the movement down.
