Will you find the water cooler to be a hostile place this week @Bandage or will you give it a skip altogether until this blows over?

As Malachy so elegantly put it

In the small, sequestered world of golf, joining the five other gods of the game is a huge deal but out in the world, it’s a pretty meaningless construct. Tell somebody at work today that Rory McIlroy is on a par with Gene Sarazen now and watch them back slowly away.

Everything has changed utterly in these last few years.

I’ll be in the office on Wednesday & it’s a hot desk/book your desk system these days.

Long gone are the days where you’re ensconced in your permanent seat for 5 days per week & often left with no choice but to hear the office experts debate politics, business, sport (& other hobbies such as golf).

Now we’re in once a week & you can pick your seat carefully. You’ll also find there’ll be people on loads of Teams calls & others with earphones in & headsets on purporting to be on calls but really listening to podders…& people fucking off to break out zones & meeting rooms to hide.

Last night was seismic but, even with that, the world will have turned again by Wednesday I think. I might be able to top up my water at frequent intervals without any mention of golf.

Someone airbrushed out the sheep.

Rors has you badly rattled. You put up an absolute belter of a golf post at the start of the Masters. Had the potential to be in contention for the best post ever on here.

Unfortunately Rors shat all over you and blew it out of the water (for a change) on Sunday night as he held the nation in the palm of his hand and entered the history books.

Laura Davies said it was the best ever live sporting event she’d witnessed.

Is that post directed at me? My goodness.

I think it was aimed at @ChairmanDan

Listen, it was great drama, and made for good tv. But it’s golf at the end of the day. I wouldn’t get so carried away as to place it alongside proper sporting achievements

Are you saying @ChairmanDan is Laura Davies???

Will you post this to your X account or are you afraid of your employer finding out your true views on golf again??

I don’t think his current employer sponsors McIlcunt. That was unfortunate with Lowry.

I dont even like golf pal.

Me neither. Sunday was good, high drama etc but it left me with absolutely no interest in watching any further golf.

It’s imperative to bring your authentic self to work these days, according to Bressie et al, so I don’t think I’ll have any option but to launch a tirade about it at some stage. LinkedIn might be the more appropriate platform in this instance.

Yes and no

Any comment from Dame Laura Davies on the magnificent fare at Villa Park tonight?

Surprised at that, you were a dinger at the ol’ Pitch & Putt above in Terry Pete’s!

Not quite . Found the lake with the club once not to mind the ball.

Those sheep shit covered greens were notoriously difficult to negotiate!
