saw a good programme yesterday about the impending demise of professional photography.
Tennis Australia is hiring photographers for the Australian open but are only taking volunteers as they dont think people should be paid anymore. Fairfax let 50 photographers go last year. It seems the Australian media feel that passer bys can take pics on their phones now so there is no need to hire people.
They had the two top photographers in oz talking and they said they are only working two days a week now
