So was I actually Mac. Small world etc.
I hadnt been up in Cheltenham but met up with plenty lads who had, they put us severely under the cosh in London town that night as they were so full of drink from the week
Wasn’t in Cheltenham either Dan. Watched it all from O’Neills. I think the Friday was Paddys day and we were on the piss from around mid-day. The pubs were full of Irish people who just came in for lunch and never went back. One lad told his boss that if he wasn’t back by 2.30 then not to expect to see him till Monday, another rang from the pub saying that there was a family emergency and he wouldn’t be back in!
I was living in Germany and listening to Cheltenham online.
The Saturday was a great day, Finnegan’s Wake pub with lots of drink, loads of Irish and loads of English. There was lots of swapping of rounds between the two tribes as well as assorted celebratory rounds bought by the Scots, Welsh and French that were there that evening. The Germans thought it was an extension of St Patricks day.
A momentous occasion Bando, no doubt about it. Don’t see why they had to play Mulligan’s goal 4(!) times on the highlights reel but it’s a minor grumble.
