Joubert played a major role in the Springboks’ success at the 1995 Rugby World Cup held in South Africa, most notably turning in an outstanding performance in the 15-12 win over the All Blacks in the final,[1] despite playing with a broken hand. The quarterfinal almost proved to be the end of Joubert’s World Cup when his hand was broken in contact with Western Samoa player George Harder. That same night he went for surgery and spent time in a decompression chamber.

Why is it heartbreaking mate?

Not having a key member of the SA coaching team that won the RWC a few years back?

Jota’s winner today. This is a great picture.

Jota’s a study of concentration, focusing on getting a proper connection. The head on Tavernier as he realises he’s caught wrong side.

But, as ever, the huns in the background make it. There must have been a few corporate packages in amongst the general admission tickets. A few suited folk. The best ones are staunch looking chap in the red tie, the chap beside him with his head in his hands & the lad behind him who looks like he’s seen a ghost. Orange & red hoodies are highlights too.
