it was the troika that steered us back mate, all FG did was decided to hit the poor rather than the rich
Since the Troika left FG have been badly exposed.
It was the solid foundations that FF laid that stopped everything from collapsing
No cuts to headline social welfare but massive tax hikes
Eat the Rich.
We’re back so it’s only a matter of time before Fr Peter McVerry is on the radio saying it isn’t fair that people who don’t work don’t have as much money as people who do work.
If a 20 year old immigrant from Pakistan with no connections can arrive here and get a job within 5 days in a petrol station then the local lad who is on the scratcher is not properly motivated to get a job.

Here here there’s work there for anyone who wants it. Anyone unemployed who says otherwise is a lazy cunt.
Nazism was anti-capitalism and in favour of a State run economy.
What I propose is closer to America so “Yee Haw” is a better response.
There’s been work for anyone who wanted it for the last 5 years. The recession was just a way to weed out the wasters stealing a living. They’ll all return in time no doubt, some may have returned already.
arent you the lad who started a thread looking for backpaid mickey money ?
im not sure if i started this thread but Im 100% behind social inclusion at the expense of the rich
yes, I did start the thread
Nothing wrong with social welfare. It is good. Problem is that it has for a certain segment become an alternative to working and the recipients actually lose out because it results in generational unemployment, deprivation, social issues.
An example is that if I work and want to have another kid I don’t get a pay rise or entitled to a bigger house so I do a financial calculation and work out if we can afford that child without major financial headaches. Most people who work do that. A lot of people who don’t work skip that calculation and it is getting to the stage where the only families with 4 plus kids are very wealthy or on social welfare. That just seems wrong conceptually and intellectually. It is a symptom of a wider issue where the benefits system traps people and makes them better off not working and then all the vested interests who feed off the benefits system and its clients are on the radio and in the media saying they need more benefits when in reality they need to be weaned off benefits as there are more “benefits” (pun intended) to working than just financial including self esteem, motivation and a chance to interact on hurling focussed message boards.

Everything is cyclical except the power of the bureaucrats in Brussels.

People on the dole automatically being entitled to medical cards pisses me off too fucking cunts another incentive not to work. Shouldn’t get one unless you have an illness that requires you to need a lot of medical care.

Careful now…
If a lad has slaved away and wants to do something else then social welfare serves a purpose while he works out what that might be.
No issue. He is getting back what he paid in.
I did a bit of a tour around the sunny south east, it is depressing the state of the place.
I’ve worked all over the country over the last couple of years and would echo these sentiments. Our most depressing experiences by far have been in the sunny south east.
Given neither of you asked for advice from any of the numerous members from the sunny south east on the board its no wonder you had a bad experience. Much like @Rocko’s trip to Kilmore Quay.
