Green Shoots - How Michael Noonan ended the recession

I reckon the landlords see the state of Glas and stick a few hundred on the asking price.

You can get a nice two bed just outside Clontarf (not too far that your life is in danger) for €1250

Glas and his hipster friends don’t like living beyond the canals - Ranelagh excepted

Nephew of mine renting a new place out Inchicore way. Seems happy enough.

Anywhere outside D2, D4 and D6 will probably be fine if you’re a professional. Everywhere is a bit crazy at the moment as students are returning to college and posing as professionals as many landlords don’t want them.

Most places around Dublin would be grand for a young lad. The places you’d be happy to let a woman live though are far fewer.

Glas places like Blackrock are a bit cheaper if you are only looking for room. A bit further out but you’d have the Dart and good bus connections.

Where you living at the minute?

D4, but that was only because I only had a few days between moving back to the country and starting the new job, took the first alright place that came up. Ideally I’d want to be within 15/20 mins cycle of work in not a kip. I’d prefer kilmainham to blackrock.

Is Castleknock too far over - cycle through the park?

Yeah, 9km.

you should try the south dublin riviera glas, wonderful sea air, easy to get to town and some great areas for jogging/cycling and a new library

Are companies actually hiring again in the country at any reasonable rate? Are there jobs out there? I think i saw recent figures that immigration has now passed out emigration, but i supposed those who were going to go would have gone by now save for a few graduating students each summer.

Most of the main multi-national companies in Dublin never stopped hiring

There jobs market in IT/Tech is booming in Dublin at the moment. Obviously options a lot more limited down the country.

Traffic was shocking this morning. One of the downsides of the recovery is the increase in traffic levels.

@glasagusban - if the returns from capital increase in same manner we are likely to see people being employed in domestic service again in large numbers in the UK and the last 60 years regarded as a blip

Accordion to a recent survey, replacing words with the names of musical instruments in a sentence often goes undetected

Fucking shocking is right. Does any fucking kid in Dublin not get dropped to school in an SUV? It’s some pain in the hole.
