Greyhounds Matters 🐐 - Supporting Rural Ireland

A massive run from Judicial Academy as well to win the Kasco in Thurles in 28.86 (1.72 split :o ).

Two ā€˜Trecs’ by the Tyrurs at Droichead Nua last night Dunph, they’ve never looked back since they left Hennessy

Speaking of the Gowran maestro, I’m surprised your Newbridge review didn’t include a note on the most noble dog of all, Ullid Conor. Surely this dog is a moral for the 2010 alright sort of the year award? Are we all going to Limerick for opening night?

I forgot about Ullid Conor, what a performer and he approaching 7!

I’m sure we’ll all be in Limerick for opening night but that’s some time away yet (October), we’ll have the Derby from Shelbourne in between hopefully…

Conor is a dinger… what a dog, what a servant, and still one of the top dogs in the country over 3-400 yards.

Good racing in clonmel tonight, and our own dog the business, and a nice whip around the ring hitting four of the windy fcukers at 5/2 as the lids raised. Out and gone, but the stake is only getting going now.

Vey nice win for your fella tonight, hangblaa. Well done. BTW, what is Priceless Chef doing in that competition???

Chef was A1 when the competition started last Thursday week…

Catunda Barry ran a hell of a race tonight getting trouble on the run up and at the first, second and third bends. Its only gettng going now, 24 dogs left.

Who is this Carl Cooney young lad who is in every second picture in the Sporting Press every week making presentations? Is he a transition year student or something?

Oaks is down to the semi-fianl stage and not a dicky bird. Dalcash Dvinksy looks the one for me, and would be fair running for a pup to win it… Looking through Saturday nights card, if Hats My Boy is 6/4 or better he is worth a right cut in the opener.

Massive card in Kilkenny on Sunday night for the BEAM benefit night with the bones of 45000 in prize money. The final of the Dobbs Oil unraced is wide open now with AirForce Solo getting 6 box. Hovex Brandy is going over 745 in the tri-distance final and looks to be a staying star in the making and my fav for the Corn CĆŗ Culainn. There is a one off open 525 with 2,500 to the winner and going by what i hear abnout trial this week, there will be a few right dogs on show for that. There is an Open spint final featuring Carlows Pride & Ullid Conor.

The Oaks field is looking very strong with at least five or six serious contenders at this stage. I have some loose change on Shelbourne Dawn at 14/1 but i’d fancy some of the others more. The front three in the market have to be respected, these being the young Dalcash Diva bitches and Skywalker Queen, the latter of which is improving with every run. I also like Droopys Kina who has been finishing like a train and is available still at 12/1, but she has been inconsistent at traps.

The card for Kilkenny looks a good one alright.

I have managed to free up three whole weekends so i can now take in the third round, quarter-finals and final of the Derby this year. The thing now is finding accomodation. Are there any hotels ye would recommend up there?

Dunph, johnny moyles have you convinced that Dawn will do it… cant see it myself, as she just doesnt have the pace of the other contenders, and will need an ideal draw and a some trouble in running…

Have a look at the KK card for sunday Dunph, its up on IGB now… best card you will get outside of Dublin for a long while, get yoursef down !

As i said HangBlaa i only threw a bit of loose chage at it the other day, i hadn’t intended having any bet as i have been sweet on Dalcash Dvinsky all along. I’ll be surprised if Shelbourne Dawn wins it but she does have a good chance of making the final i think.

That card is a real mixed bag with various different grades, distances and aged dogs on show. There’s good prizemoney there.

Think the open class RedMills Cup over 525 is a great idea, €100 in…€2500 to the winner, like backing a genuine Open class dog at 25’s… Granslam and Hovex Brandy will be Corn CĆŗ Culainn dogs and will be good to get a look at them. Carlows Pride is arguably the best sprinter in the country, but Coldwater Penny and Ullid Conor will give him plenty. Would also be worth the trip down to see a proper betting ring at a dog track…

Yes i might bring some of the charlatans standing at the Markets Field in Limerick with me for a field trip…

Beaming Dilemma caused a bit of an upset tonight in winning the final of the Paddy O’Sullivan race of champions at odds of 8/1 in a super 29.66. His owners will pick up a cool €20k for the win. That smashing dog, Sevenheads Bay, was just a shoulder back in second. He really is a model of consistency and is a seriously honest dog. Tullymurry Act back in third while fans of Colourful Champ will be disappointed to see him finish last.

Toomaline Jack Dempsey was impressive enough at the Don tonight, Dunph.

Indeed 28.96 in the first round of the Grand National. He’s unbackle though, 1/4 tonight.

Gormless the creep doing his utmost to push through the breeding bill as quickly as possible. The Greens have Clowen and his cronies by the balls and it looks inevitable that this will come to fruition, unless a few dissenting voices from within Fianna Fail pipe up…

That prick needs a good hiding, Dunph.

Some nice shots of a hurdles schooling session here…

She won her semi-final tonight in a spectacular 28.56 at odds of 4/1.

She’ll be no 14/1 now in the final.

She ran a blinder ok Dunph. Nice docket to be holding now ok.

Great racing in KK last night, bookies turned over close to 65k and didnt have to pay out a whole lot of it… a nice few four figure bets struck, you would have loved the gallery Dunph.
