Greyhounds Matters 🐐 - Supporting Rural Ireland

I think they are all on Saturday night but I am open to correction

I know the brood bitch you are talking about, HB. What stud dog did you go to? I think i remember you saying one of the American sires…

Edit: I see now who you went to. Very good.

All on Saturday night as the Runt said. Forget about this weekend, i won’t be able to go boozing with you this weekend and anyway it’s only the second round. Come up any other weekend. If you were thinking of two weekends include the final anyway on December 18th.

I’m going to try and make this Saturday but I’d say it could be a struggle.

Tremendous eye witness account there Dunph, mate. Is a night in Limerick as good as a night in Mecca these days? I haven’t been home since it opened.
Will the TFKCSC all be in attendance on Leger final night? That’s when I’ll be making my bow at the new Field of Dreams.

I would say it’s at least on a par and maybe even better than a night at Shelbourne. The facilities are top class and the racing has been top drawer so far. Hopefully, it continues that way. What i would like to see there in the next 2-3 months is a good quality unraced stake.

I’d be surprised if we didn’t have the full contingent present for Leger final night, mate…

I’ll leave it this weekend so and head up in a few weeks. December 18th is ideal, I’ll probably be heading up to the city to do my shopping in the €2 shop anyway.

Think about coming up for the quarter-finals the weekend after this.

This Tony Cameron fella of Fatboyz fame must have a lot of dogs, he seems to have dogs/pups for sale on data every week. He has a Jul 09 dog Westmead Hawk x Droopys Gabriela for sale for €600. Qualified Limerick 30.49.

Just looking back over last years Comerford Cakes and what a high class stake it was. Here is the first round results:

http://www.igb.ie/Trainers-Landing/Results/View-Results/?track=SPK&date=21-Nov-2009

What a heat the 3rd heat was - Tullymurry Act beating Fatboyz Tyson with Makeshift and future Derby winner Tyrur McGuigan (12/1) down the field.

Could a man have back his dog to win 40k @ 4/6 on his dog (as happened in Mecca a few weeks back). You know who SS**.

Could an ordinary punter you have 3k at 5/1, and again at 3/1 on your dog in a saturday night open ??

Ok Mecca is weak as piss on Wed and thur nights, but on a saturday you can still punt hard.

I know you’re talking about in the first case HB and the dog won. But would another man get on nearly as much with Hegarty? In fairness it is a unique case.

Look, Limerick is a long way from Shelbournes standards in terms of getting money on but perhaps it’s improving slightly. I saw one man have €1k on Makeshift and in an earlier race i saw a fella collect €3k off one of the bookies. I mentioned already about Tom Carey and his impressive display in there Friday night (in comparison to the rest who were spineless).

I hope the Leger won’t be called off tomorrow. They’re giving woeful weather and there are already a spate of horse race meets called off for tomorrow including Fairyhouse…

They’re giving the going as soft to heavy at Greenpark for the weekend.

I believe it was this weekend last year where heavy fog cost George Bunratty her shot at immortality.
The final of the A1 sweep was due to be staged in the Markets Field, she was flying at home, but then the meeting was cancelled due to fog and rescheduled for the following week. Poor old George put up 2lbs and went into season in the intervening week and came home 6 of 6.

She never raced again.

Ah yeah, the first case is certainly unique. it will be probably yourself that tales like that are told of in 20 years time Dunph.

But it is good to hear that Tom Carey is fronting up, and he will reap teh rewards.

Lifford and Kilkenny are hard bet for punting though, dont think there is anywhere else you could have 2k on a bitch in and N3 on a wednesday at 2/1 and 7/4 and her still return 6/4.

Fair heat alright Dunph. I think Leger Final night in Limerick will be epic. Are we all on the lash afterwards aswell? Or are fellas going to slink off home?

Lets hope so, it could be a preamble to Clonmel.

I’ve just realised that I’m otherwise engaged on the night of the 18th!

I hope to be in attendance tonight though, are you heading in Dunph?

It seems there was an attempted hijack of greyhoundnuts today.

DO NOT GO ONTO NUTS

I went on there and it threw a virus onto my machine.
The anti-virus caught it and deleted it.
