I would like to have a small wager on a dog running in Kilkenny tonight
The trainer/owner has given me a decent albeit short priced tip
2 small problems I can’t remember the name of said dog and I can’t find Kilkenny;s meetings on paddypower.com

Any suggestions?

Short answer.
You will need to go to Kilkenny.

The major bookies don’t bet on “regional” meetings. Generally only Harolds Cross and Shelbourne and a few of the big sweeps around the country.

You could probably get the name of the dog via IGB.ie by searching for the name of the trainer and then checking his dogs.

I have just actually found the name of the dog, doing exactly that.
He won the semi-final of an A2 race last weekend

Are you serious that Powers won’t take a bet on a greyhound race in Kilkenny yet they’ll often take bets on local soccer matches??

I would suggest forgetting about it.

Ya serious.
I had a fellow in Ladbrokes take a bet off me one evening for a dog going in Clonmel.
I got a call to say the dog had won so went back to collect. Your man looked at me like I had two heads and told me they don’t take bets on Clonmel.

I had to argue with him to get my initial stake back. It would have been worse if the dog had been beat and they would have kept my dosh.

Went to back him with Hills at 9/2 before the off and the cunts had suspended. Sick. I’m a big believer of the old adage ‘BEWARE MCKENNA IN A FINAL’.

Thank me at ye’re ease

U ape

Farley broke like his tail was on fire last night. All over at the first bend. Handy enough crowd out there. It was bitter cold trying to hold on to the pint glass.

Any reports from last night? Myself and RTT got caught up looking after his dogs and decided to watch proceedings from the comfort of the pub.

:pint: Vino Veritas

Delighted to see Farly Turbo show them all a clean pair of heals last weekend. Some effort to have the track in that order all things considered.

It s tough going trying to keep dogs going at the minute. Very tough.

Well Hb, no sign of you in a while?

How’s the Clonmel dog going? Will you give him any run up before hand?
Anything else you’re hoping to sneak a 2nd ticket with?

Limericks card is cancelled tonight.

Its been a while, access issues in work, and too busy with dogs outside work…

To the clonmel thread with that talk… but no, wont be pushing for a 2nd ticket, dog is good and will come in under the radar in Clonmel. Am making a push for a ticket to the champion working members in Patrickswell though, but that is another story that will unravel in time.

Also, dog for 2011 – BALLYBAWN BORO. He will be a contender for the big ones, mark my words.
