Has the era of Eastern European women in Ireland come to an end, or has the situation has changed much over the years?
Go back 20 years or so, the arrival of women from Poland, the Baltics and other parts of Eastern Europe made a big impression. They were well received, and for Irish men, it was a real sea change in the dating scene. They were usually more attractive, well presented and mannerly, and seemed to have a more positive outlook on relationships.
At the time, Irish women were very entitled for the most part.
Your average Eileen from Enniscorthy, big arse, thick ankles, baggy jeans on her, thought she was a some sort of Goddess that only a Brad Pitt could dare approach.
Are Eastern European women still making the same impression on Irish dating culture, or has the novelty worn off as everyone has become more integrated?
To some degree, it would appear like Irish women upped their game to meet the standard of the competition - more of them go to the gym nowadays, eat better and pay more attention to their appearance.

Have the Ukranian arrivals in recent years been well received by single Irish males? Without being on that scene I’m not qualified to comment on it but I’d imagine there’s been a few Irish-Ukranian romances. Or was it mainly mothers and children who came over rather than younger single women?
I know of a lad shacked up with a Ukrainian. I know of another who left his wife for a Ukranian recent arrival.
I remember the heyday of the new arrivals. They seemed to stick with their own if I remember correctly. (or in other words, I never had any luck trying to chat one up). Ah yerra, I had a few daliances alright, and they weren’t shy about coming forward.
But I have noticed as I became less of a bitter young fucker, the options of meeting a lass of any nationality generally increased.
A combination of things. There are less arrivals nowadays, since their economies have picked up. Poland seems to be booming.
Also, Irish women have upped their game. Though loads of them go ott with the hd eyebrows and puffy lips.
It’s all moot. Most young fellas are too glued to their phones, or too busy playing video games to notice.
