Hibernian v Celtic ☘

Bauer starts again. Ntcham continues with Christie wide right and Forrest left I imagine. Sinclair on the bench over Morgan thankfully.

Oh FFS sake. Fluke for Hibs

Ccchhhrrriiisssrrrriiieeeeeee

Hibs are furious about the delayed free kick in the build up to the goal but it was the correct decision, albeit delayed. Heckingbottom sent off now for kicking a bottle at the linesman.

Lovely goal anyway. A swift attack and a nice cross from Bauer and a very decent header by Christie.

Ajer irked me for the goal in turning his arse to the cross.

Think Celtic have been playing well otherwise.

Haven’t picked out the final pass all that well despite moving it quickly enough.

Great goal though.

Why did the Hibs fans expect to get the ball back there?

Edouard was running clean through when the ref pulled it back.

They have collectively misunderstood the foul on Forrest and seen to think there was something cheeky about how Celtic got the ball.

Agreed that we are playing well overall. Goal was annoying. Forster might be expected to get down quicker too but it was awkward given how he was set. Think Ajer could have done more too but in general I think it was just mostly unfortunate.

Ajer irked me further in sliding in on half way and getting booked. Maybe he happens to be the one I’m picking on lately, but he needs to learn from these mistakes and cut them out.

Celtic look comfortable and are playing well. I’m still a little concerned that Hibs have gotten in behind our midfield a few times. We’re much more cohesive and have a better shape than in early season when I was raging about it, but we could be a bit tighter. We should have enough to probe away and take the lead but we don’t want to hand them something to hang onto.

I’d be contemplating Ntcham coming off soon. He’s playing well but I seem to recall him getting sent off when riled up last season when it looked inevitable and it seems similar today.

Doing mostly well. Ajer needs to learn to stay on his feet and we’ve probably dropped a bit since equalising but I think we’ll continue to create chances.

Yeah they got in behind Bauer early and again later on when the ball went out of play. The ball behind Ajer from Allan is easy because the first pass to Allan opened is up too much. In all those examples the last ball behind was simple and not really the defence’s fault. It’s the fact they’re getting guys in space in front of our back 4 that’s concerning.

Bauer is a bit reckless in his decision making and positioning.

Would not be taking Edouard off.

+1. Forrest hasn’t been good today.

Poor draw that.

Got a bit panicky shooting from distance and then just lacked a bit of composure again with a couple of late chances.

Thought Bayo looked decent when he came on. Bolingoli created a few chances from his running but overall we suffered from average performances by the likes of Forrest and Christie.

Sevco beat Aberdeen 5-0 today. They’ve won 6/7, only losing to Celtic.

I think they’ve improved but the bigger sides outside Celtic and Sevco appear to have regressed.

Aberdeen have gone a bit stale under McInnes, Killie were better with Steve Clarke in charge, Hearts & Hibs have gone back too despite the latter taking the point off Celtic today.

Sometimes I may be nitpicking against Lennon but not sure why Hayes was first sub on today when we had Elyounoussi, Rogic and Bayo on the bench. Taking off Edouard with 20 minutes left was a fairly baffling call too.

Overall, I’m thinking that the derbies will take more significance this season if the other sides are less inclined to take points off the top two.

Hayes has a bit of thuggery about him ,needed today - physical enough

I didn’t think there was much wrong with the selection and general tactics today. I wouldn’t have had Hayes as first sub, though he did ok and should have taken over set pieces from Christie who was poor on them. No harm in bringing Bayo on who looked decent but Edouard could have played alongside him, behind him or in one of the wide attacking roles.

But I think we deserved to win, goal conceded was out of the blue and a fluke, we were denied penalties that could / should have been given. We just didn’t really convert pressure into enough good chances but it wasn’t a stale performance or anything.

Sort of feels like a losing bonus point.
