Holidays in Ireland thread (Laois is for prisoners)

Glengarriff is a beautiful place but deserted. The Beara way is stunning.

Glengarriff is nice. Wouldnt know how much there would be to do there with kids. Eccles hotel is nice but not cheap. Can do some nice boat trips from there. Wouldnt be much out of your way going to Glenbeigh anyway.

There’s very little in Glengarriff bar the boat to Garnish but it’s central enough to explore from, you’d be using the car quite a bit @Thomas_Brady

I have a holiday home booked down there for 5 nights for 600 notes in mid September mate.

Is eccles the old place like the hotel from the shining or something? There is nothing in glengarriff to hold you for more than a handful of hours, maybe just place to get a bite at most.

Ireland. 2020. The new normal as every gobshite I met was keen to tell me

The nature reserve is a grand facility . Lovely walks there

I never spent any time in Glengarriff, it’s a nice spot but there’s nothing to keep you there, I think Garnish is lovely on a nice day and there’s a brilliant rope swing on the way down to where the boat leaves for the kids.
My wife has expressed an interest in staying in Eccles some time, just likes the look of it, I like Beara but you need the weather

July 2012 sounds like it was horrific

You’d want your head examined to holiday on the west coast of Ireland.

You’ve clearly never been to Kinvora

Heaton’s Guesthouse, in Dingle, Co Kerry, was named best small hotel in Ireland

This place is unbelievable. Rooms are 5 star hotel standard. They also have the best breakfast menu you will see anywhere. It’s booked out through repeat booking and word of mouth most of the year but they put it up on Booking.com for few off season months… Well worth a look.

Out the coast road west approaching the bridge? I’ve heard great things about that place, apparently the brekkie is as good as you’ll get anywhere

Yep that’s the place. There is another good b and b next door can’t remember the name

I’d say it is a goldmine.

I’d say you could rent out a shed for a fortune in Dingle during the summer. Is the B&B expensive?
