Holidays in Ireland thread (Laois is for prisoners)

They’ll even pack the breakfast for you to take as a picnic

Sister was there with her twins of similar age and was unimpressed. Also, couldn’t relax with door open as opened straight out on to beach or something.

The twins were of similar age?

Every hotel in Clare is full of Ukrainians, beware, they have the likes of Lisdoonvarna overrun

Would it be worse if it was overrun by townies or the D4 crowd?

Big problems coming down the line, big problems.

Clifden already bombarded with Dubs and its not even June

Twas overrun every September by farmers that hadn’t gotten the ride since the previous year and it survived just fine

Wahey….

Woodlands in adare is well setup for kids. They’ll get you babysitter if you want and you can go for a meal and a few pints. They’ve a small pet farm though nothing major. Enough for an 18 month old. Nice lesiure centre too

The farmers will be in for a treat this year

Rumours abound that there’s no waiting for September

Yeah I trumped for the Falls near Lahinch.

Looks nice, will note when we take the trip again in the future. No way would the wife get a babysitter though.

UK staycation figures this year are below pre covid levels.
You could actually do worse than get the ferry to wales. Anglesey is a grand spot. Not sure what prices are like.

Ferry prices are nuts if you can get a booking at all. We tried for the one to Spain so could take the dogs. 3k+

It’s usually about 600 notes for a car and four of us with two cabins in August return. Might have gone up though.
I sometimes use an agent who seems to get a decent price if you want her email.
Advice is always get an 8ish am ferrry and a cabin. Early start but your back asleep by 830.
Need to be very careful if you can not to try this on a workday in Dublin though. M50 can be tasty.
