Ballacolla the same, astonishing camaraderie.

A friend of the Mrs is flying in to Dublin to visit an uncle who’s poorly in Vincent’s. Any hotels nearby or is she better off staying in town? Preferably wants to be near hospital as ability to visit might be at short notice.

Maldron Hotel Merrion Road - recently refurbished/rebuilt and would be a walk away

Talbot Hotel Stillorgan

There’s also a Clayton in Ballsbridge. Might be a bit more expensive as closer to town

@Massey in “I’m gonna see Rod Stewart” revelation……

I’ve seen him 30 years ago and to this day he remains one of the greatest live performers I’ve seen. A pocket rocket but that was yonks ago. Enjoy!!

A lady was telling me the other night you can get good deals on air bnb still in Dublin

Dublin probably has the best value in the country

Look around smithfield. Be on the luas line to the gig then and close to the city centre but not in the more expensive parts

I was looking at a hotel for a Friday night work visit recently on the Wednesday it was 300, it had dropped to 225 by Thursday afternoon

Edit: My theory on this is that they won’t drop the price until it’s past the cut off the free cancellations (e.g. 48hours before the weekend) so as to stop people who booked at higher prices cancelling and rebooking.

If you didn’t want to book it because of the incident would you be suffering from regency bias?
