@myboyblue - Shane Dowling, Kevin Downes, Cian Lynch, Ronan Lynch, La Touche Cosgrave and even Tom Morrissey to name a few, all excelled in Harty cup and were all recognised as future county stars before playing Fitz. Cosgrave and Lynch are still in 6th year and will walk onto the Limerick panel before ever lining out in front of 100,000 below in the Mardyke.
The Harty cup is serious business.
They might walk on to the panel but it’s hard to judge their intercounty championship potential until they are actually going 100% committed against another established intercounty player also 100% committed. You’ll get this at Fitz level but it’s questionable whether you’ll always get this at league level.
Also some of the best games\displays I’ve seen were in the fitzgibon cup with only a 100 people watching.
Great competitions. Big problem is the Gaa Calander isn’t fair to both competitions
Are you suggesting that it should follow the American system and that lads in college should not be allowed play Senior? Great idea…You could run it off over the Summer even, it would bring on a heap of lads played that way.
I’ll stab you with your own baguette you cunt
uh la la, tre bien.
No, but you are it seems!
