I see on Yvonne Harringtons Blog the ICC are expecting this to be a fair and impartial view of coursing meetings in Ireland and that some of the coursing clubs gave camera crews access to see what exactly went on behind the scenes and during coursing. I can see this being an attempt at a hatchet job on coursing, but we’ll have to wait and see.
Out of boredom I watched TV3’s Blackmarket Ireland last night, fuckin hell, there was incredible hidden camera footage of a lad buying a knocked off bag in Henry Street and a young lad ridden a horse around Smithfield. I never knew things had gotten so bad in Ireland that the brand name clothes and bags they sell at market stalls are actually fakes.
I was in Ballyduff on the Sunday when they were filming and they will have to do some job to make it a hatchet job from any footage they got there, the hares were the best I’ve ever seen, made absolute mugs of the dogs.
On that note, I saw a massive buck hare attempting to court a female who was playing hard to get this morning, she gave him a good couple of clips before the two of them disappeared back through the fields.

The use of Blood Sports in the title makes me uneasy but given that the man was able to portray travellers in a somewhat positive light, then maybe he will be coming from the alternative (and real) angle regarding coursing instead of the usual misconceptions and bullshit.
I hope this is the beginning of the end of rural pursuits in Ireland. Come on TV3. I hope Aidan Cooney makes a contribution to the programme too.
