Its the weather Iād say KP
For sure Massey. herding twice a day for the next few weeks regardless.
We lost plenty to that shit KP over the years hard to save any animal from that
Was out with a pack of mink hounds for a few hours this morning. Grand way to pass the day.
Fox took my poor auld duck at the weekend. Sickened over it. Iāve had her for about four years, she was a gas auld character.
Dirty night out. Had to use the jack for the first time this calving season and hopefully the last. Grand limousin bull calf delivered safe and sound anyway.
Hot Whiskey time.

Is he a purebred KP
No MF. A little mongrel.
Is it fair to say at this stage that HSA need to come down heavy on farmers and how they handle their day to day safety. Too many deaths, especially kids.
Kids have no place inside the farmyard gate unless their hand is being heldā¦ firmly.
Too many potential threats.

Was just saying this yesterday when I heard about the latest in Offaly. Its absolutely tragic, there seems to be so many more of them lately. Senseless
Its a difficult one to fathom. Alot of it is to do with mothers now working in most farm households which leaves fathers doing pick ups from childmindersā¦ being partime childminders along with
being full time farmers. This creates a situation where the farmer is bringing his kids along doing the daily chores on.
Wrong on so many levels but happening everywhere all the time.

In most other industries the HSA would be prosecuting but I think they feel they need to tread more carefully in these cases as they would be prosecuting people who had lost family members.
Their stats show itās the most dangerous industry and every year there is a new farm safety campaign but the figures donāt seem to be decreasing- perhaps it is time for a change in approach

Itās too late to be prosecuting anyone when a child has lost his/her life on a farm. Large fines for farmers who are found to be in breach of HSA safety guidelines would be better. Donāt know what itās like nowadays but when I was doing a bit of farm work the HSA inspector wouldnāt be let out of his car in the farmyard to carry out an inspection by a mad dog and and even madder farmer
First of the springers is showing signs of calving tonight.
Flash lamp is charged.
Country pursuits so beloved of the horsey set has no place on this island. As a wise sage once said āThe chasing of a fox down the countryside equivalent of a one-way street and daubing the forehead of the youngest member of the hunt with the bloody entrails of the wild beast is something I will never understandāā.
The hunt and all those associated with it are dirty Prods at best. Think they can take over rural roads with their customs the cunts.
