Hurling All Stars 2014

It is a system that gave Ciaran Barr the nod ahead of Joe Cooney in 1988 at a point in time when Joe Cooney was the best hurler in the country by a mile.

I’m seething here. I’m not sure why but I’m raging.

Dowlings 2 goals against Wexford don’t count due to Wexfords schedule of games, so only 1-8 of his total is relevant.

+1. Messy, scrappy, bundled in goals against a punch drunk team. As mentioned, when you factor in McDonald’s ability to win ball, the range of left and right finishes for goals, the scores he created and the converted frees he earned then it’s clear he was the elite young forward this season. Of course, he had two other goals incorrectly disallowed against Clare in the replay too.

Don’t think they had fools on an Internet forum back in 1993 when Flynn was just out of minor. Flynn has an all ireland u21 medal too by the way, won as a minor! McDonald zero u21 all Ireland’s.

A disproportionate focus is always but on the tallies that free takers amass.

christ, that was easier than I thought.

McDonald has 2 years left at U21 so your last line is a small bit foolish.

Christ, these Wexicans would try cling to anything.

McDonald, fine hurler that he is, isn’t within an asses roar of YHOTY.

It’s between Barrett and Dowling and a good 70 mins in the replay will swing it for Barrett.

End of story.

Have Cathal McGrath, Shane Dowling or Alan Cadogan even played in an U21 final.

Dowling mixed the good with the bad this year. He missed crucial scores in the Munster Final, which if he had got them would probably have titled a close game Limerick’s way. We didn’t see too much of him in the second half of the Kilkenny game when Limerick’s need was greatest.

+1. Limerick were defending Munster champions and effectively won 1 championship game this season if you rightly disregard the Wexford match. Add to that the fact that their victory against Tipperary was an early season, non-decisive, loser gets another opportunity encounter. Contrast that to McDonald’s exceptional exploits in the cauldron against Clare and Waterford in do or die tussles.

There is merit to this. I think Paul Flynn got scandalously few, and don’t really think McDonald did enough, but he didn’t really have the chance, as I suspect that semifinal and final performances on the whole are more heavily weighted, not that that is right.

McDonald has that Wexford roma look about him which won’t help his cause

Disgracefully insulting post. McDonald might or might not have lectures to get up for in the morning and he shouldn’t have to read that kind of personalised abuse about himself if he logs onto TFK.

I’d say we’re safe enough

ask @gaamad1996 if he is safe enough from your kind of rubbish

Eh ?
