Probably not enough Limerick players in that selection, mate.
I think Powers have made a hames of their prices. Based on current prices, this is the selection
Gleeson
Hickey, Tyrell, Barrett/Murphy
Maher, Maher, Buckley
Hogan, Jimbob/Woodlock/Chin/McGrath
Bonnar, Reid, Lehane
Bubbles, Callinan, C Fennelly
If youâve strong opinions on the likes of Brian Hogan if KK win youre as well taking a punt on him rather than on KK. Thereâs gaps in some of the other lines too based on what the experts here say. Richie Mac is 3/1 for an All Star.
Lehane was very good but I donât think he caught theye in an All Star way. Heâs a bit like Paul Flynn (Dublin), most of the stuff he does is brilliant but he seems to fade out for periods.
I realise Flynn gets accolades, but he was on a dominant team.
Gleeson (a bad year for keepers)
Murphy
Richie McCarthy/JJ, should be Richie mac but if Kilkenny win the final JJ will get it Iâd say
Hickey
Barrett
Maher
Buckley
Hogan
McGrath
Bubbles
Bonnar
Reid
Dowling
Callanan
The last spot is up for grabs, probably somebody from Kilkenny but canât think of anybody deserving of one. Maybe Mcdonald from Wexford has a chance

That makes perfect sense. In a nonsensical way.
Is any poster attending the GPA former inter county players event on Saturday week in Croke Park

Itâs clashing with the CPA conference.
The selectors will acknowledge that Wexford only lost to Limerick because of their hectic schedule.
Cathal Barrett is an absolute shoe-in for YHOTY. I think everybody realises that bar the odd deluded Limerick poster like @glasagusban.
I couldnât have the Tipp keeper - he was shit on Sunday.
Guys, is Cathal Barrett still a certainly for YHOTY? Or will Conor McDonald causing absolute wreck in the Clare defence in the second half on Saturday night have any impact and remind those selecting the award that he also scored 5-10 from play in 6 senior championship starts?
McDonnellâs performance should have no bearing as the YHOTY is based on performances in the Senior Championship only. There are seperate awards/all stars for the under 21 championship as of last year
Ya, but what about McDonald?
I know thereâs separate awards but I mentioned it in relation to serving as a reminder of McDonaldâs exceptional senior season too. You even have a crank like @Kid Chocolate saying elsewhere that it settled it in his mind that McDonald was the best young player this season. Clearly he was the best young forward given his unrivalled ability to win primary possession allied to his clinical finishing but Wexford probably needed to go one round further for him to have a chance of beating Barrett. That is, unless Saturday sticks in judgesâ minds.
You sure about that? Is there a specific reference to it in the rulebook?
Iâm open to correction on this, but I understood to be eligible for YHOTY, you had to be U21. Would seem a bit strange if such an age stipulation is in place that performances in the U21 championship are not taken into account.
In any case, if the senior championship is looked at in isolation, McDonald is the frontrunner from YHOTY, going all the way back to the first night in Wexford Park when he destroyed Peter Kelly, an All Start full back.

He destroyed Antrim before he destroyed Peter Kelly mate.
Current Odds
Barrett 4/5
Dowling 10/11
Cadogan 20/1
McDonald 20/1
Having Cadogan the same price as McDonald is an insult to the Gorey man.

The discrepancy in the odds between Dowling and McDonald is an insult to the Gorey man. McDonald scored 5-10 from play in 6 matches, an average of just over 4 a game. Dowling scored 3-8 from play in 4 matches, an average of 4.25 from play.
I see people mentioning McDonald and all the years Paul Flynn had to wait to win 1 miserable all star and the scores and performances he has racked upâŚreally highlights the joke of an awards system that it is
or maybe it highlights how useless Flynn was, that McDonald can be mentioned for all stars a year out of minor in his first full year playingâŚ
