Hurling Dream Team Ground Rules

I was thinking of arranging a challenge match for my lads on the bye week so they are not coming in cold like the Connacht champions against a battle hardened outfit. But then I saw the draw, whoever I play in the first game will be grand for blowing off the cobwebs.

I played @glasagusban alternative XV as prep. Needless to say we bate the bollocks off them

I think your boys can continue to have a few handy hints after training for a while yet alright.

If I was to do this all again I would have included a super sub option with the likes of
Cathal Naughton
David Forde
Billy Byrne
Niall Ronan
Daithi Oā€™Connell
Niall Burke
Shane Dowling etc

Lads who were often utilised off the bench to try and turn games

Yeah, in retrospect that was a good call. About all those listed were good for.

@Big_Dan_Campbell any details on how many times a player was selected overall?

Reale be thereabouts on 2pts.

No but will do something up during the week.

Ronan Maher and Seamus Prendergast seem to be two of the most popular from what I can gather

The next set of hears will be posted some time between 3 and 4pm

Iā€™m not loving people comparing the teams line by line and deciding who wins in the best of 6 comparison. The lines arenā€™t in a vacuum. You might have picked a low value full forward line with a particular skill set for example, in the knowledge that the high quality half forwards can take the burden of scoring/middle 8 will get them the right ball. Itā€™s a better exercise I think if the teams are looked at in the round and matched against the opposing lines.

Agreed.

Hear hear.

Iā€™ll be addressing this in my pre match speech/lecture.

Are yoyu trying to say that some people havenā€™t gone through all 200 players and deduced whether the player is good, average or poor value compared to the other in his band and compared to the band above and below and then using this as a guide to give an overall mark to the team?

What the fuck

Stick to the football mate. You have to win your own battle in hurling.

Do full back lines often battle against each other?

No, but an individual comparison is fair i think to rank teams

Thatā€™s @Fran for you.

This has lived up to the billing
