good suggestion. Any other keepers take penalties? Is there a rule at present that states a keeperās hurley cant be used ?
why was it withdrawn?
Not sure. Something about council issuing rule clarification in due course.
No but keepers hurls are larger than regulation size for the most part anyway, it seems to be let go but no reason a ref couldnāt spot it and say the bas is too big.
true it is wrongly constructed
but the way it is debated you would swear Nash and Cork were only ones breaching the poorly constructed rule.
Its been breached for a long time by many. Its just Nash brought it to a level where he brings it a bit closer and strikes it harder.
I am not sure this congress suggestion was the way to go to sort it out. One player on the line defending the penalty if they wanted to go down that route
thought it might have been a technicality like a word spelled in the wrong version of Irish or summit along those lines!

Thereās no such thing as a keeperās hurl. The bas must be no more than 13cm at its widest point so Iād proffer that a lot of players and all keepers break this rule. The wide bais(?)became fashionable when those hicks from Clare and Tipperary started to use them in the mid nineties.
Edit: I canāt believe I said basās.
Easy enough rule to implement too.

Would Kieran Joyce have hurled much at full back out of interest?
Didnāt the Cork team of the early 00ās win All Irelands with those bigger hurls?
Mad that everyone seems to ignore the fact that DJ, Eoin Kelly, Joe Canning, Damien Fitzhenry and even Davy Fitz himself have made the most of this āruleā when taking penalties or 21 yard frees themselves over the last 20 or more years - the Clare lads who didnāt realise hurling existed before 95 especially. Only sensible thing to happen was for this thing to be thrown out. The further in front of him that Nash lifts the ball to, the less control he has over it so it should be fair game.
Completely agree with that, but I presume nothing will be made of it until an outfield player calls for a Hurley with a massive bas when stepping up to a 21/penalty.
Nothing wrong with the rules the way they are. Itās up to teams like Clare to stop their filth and denying goal scoring chances illegally.
I would allow the keeper to advance as soon as the ball is lifted, that would balance things up again. To be honest, as long as its not galway defending, or kk taking the penalty, I couldnāt give a toss.
Iāve just measured the bas of a ānormalā hurl and itās 14.5cm at its widest point. Therefore itās illegal.
Iām going to formally request that the GAA implement this rule. Those cunts in Munster would be rightly fucked then. Thereād be more goals too.
Thereās nothing to stop refs/fourth officials taking out a measuring tape or lashing out their 13cm cock and measuring the sticks before matches.

Donāt know how much. The half line is his usual habitat, I thought Cody would give him a run at 6 to be honest.

This may well start happening
Played full back at minor and under 21 for kk.
Played there at Fitz level for UL as well
Im delighted to see common sense prevailing with regards to the Anthony Mash motion. If Davy the complaining weasel is that worried about health and safety then he better start telling his backs to stop the cynical fouling around the goal area!Oh and if Cork are in form then we will put up a big score on Laois tonight.
