Right now Limerick have to decisions to make on the spine of the teamā¦ Full back, Midfield, Centre forwardā¦ The full line needs to contribute more on the score board alsoā¦
The NaP lads will all have a good chance of getting game timeā¦
While thereās negatives over Dempsey, Dowlind, Downes et alā¦the first thing on their mind is to shoot or run at defenders. There was some amount of Fuck acting last night by our forwardsā¦Peter Casey obviously will be a big addition but he may not be for until the Cork game if the op story is true.
Weāre deffo heading the right way, just need to be more ruthless up top and we need a partner for Lynch, who has had a great league campaign.
In fairness full forward suits him as he has great hands and vision and Tipp look to feed their inside line early and often.
He hasnāt the mobility or work rate for midfield or half forward and has flattered to deceive when played there and canāt get on the ball consistently like he can at 14. As I said last night, it will be a shame if he is shifted to 11 or 15 when Callinan returns as it wonāt get the best out of him and its very possible it will be back to the old routine of being subbed early or being an impact sub. If they keep him at 14 he will continue to stand out, but tough decision to not play Callinan if he is any way right.
Could Callanan do a job at 11 heās a big ball winner but may lack the work rate required in the modern game,Then you have to find a place for Noel McGrath and Bonner! Tipps depth in the forwards right now is unreal.
Noel McGrath will be 11. Bonner wing forward, John McGrath corner forward. Assume Forde will be shifted out of 14 when Callinan back with him and Breen/Bubbles getting the last two spots at 12&15 and Dan McCormack midfield.
Now maybe Callinan might well be eased back in somewhat starting on the bench with him pushing to start come the knockout stages. Forde at 14 wonāt weaken them but I think he will struggle to keep his place if played somewhere else.
Tipp have good forwards but a lot of them have gone missing in the white heat of battle. Theyāre all excellent loose hurlers but outside of Bonner theyāve no dog when the chips are down. Thatās why Ryan picked such a useless hurler like McCormack two years ago.
Not much has changed for them except Forde is starting to show his potential we seen when nenagh won the schools a few years ago. Heās another fine day hurler however
Callanan not playing would weaken any team. He is an absolute Rolls Royce of a forward. As good as has played the game when he is firing on all cylinders.
No they havenāt. They have never gone missing in the past three years. They have all played well in matches of the highest quality.
They also dicked kk in an aif. What more do you want?
There are very very few, if any (Iād argue that there are no) windy senior IC players. You just donāt get there if youāre weak. Lads suffer nerves, or have a day when things donāt run for them, teams the same, but there are no windy forwards playing for tipp in the past three years.
Some quite outstanding ditch hurlers kicking about though.
As an aside, I love it when kk are playing. Firstly it means you always have someone to cheer for. Secondly, as you just know, that however he might try, Cody just hates losing anything, so whilst he may tinker with a side, whichever 15 he puts out will be fighting like dogs to win it. They are an admirable pack of bolloxes really.
