Hurling League 2018

May 20th will be like a different sport Joe

Cork didnā€™t look overly bothered today Joe. I think they will be in good shape come Championship.

The analysis is brutal to be fair.

The pitch down there is outrageous.

Buff Eganā€™s analysis is better than RTEā€™s

Just finished watching first half of last nightā€™s Tipperary-Wexford game. I had been worried about our apparent second quarter collapse and them scoring a raft of points before half time. But Iā€™m a bit reassured now. James McGrathā€™s refereeing was pretty brutal. We had around 7 dubious free and line ball calls go against us that all led to points. Weā€™re still on course to have a heck of a year.

That 1st goal by Jason Forde was a really lovely bit of skill .

Clare will be missing the fit given players next week so Wexford will win

Well said, Joe. Clear foul on Aidan Nolan for the last goal.

What Clare lads are involved apart from Kelly? Foley be involved from Wexford too.

Conor Cleary, David Fitz and Ian Galvin

Kelly??

Apart from Kelly he said Joe

We a are in the quarters so we can relax if we want next week

According to @Gman this was a botched pick up by MOH.

Roll eyes
Monkey hands over face
Etc.

I do not think so to be honest.

The only team who is anywhere near as ohysically prepared as ye is Tipp and without 4 of the best players in the game they dismantled ye. Teams who can score from range will kill Wexford.

Conor mac is an awful disappointment and the over reliance on Chin is stark.

Davy got away with his limited coaching ability with Clare because so much good work was done previously and Clare had a much better crop than Wexford do.

Best case scenario is 1/4 and honourable performance and Davy moves on without too much fuss.

Nolan actually had the ball in his hand and botched* the hand pass but the Tipp player who disrupted him initially then swept him off his feet with a leg swipe/trip as Nolan went to recover the ball. I noticed that Kevin Foley was also felled by a leg on leg trip/swipe in the first half.

GGA hurling referees are overly fussy about some things but let other blatant things go. The leg trip falls into the latter category because they think anyone whoā€™s upended by a leg trip is one of those soccer diving types. Itā€™s gas. Full credit to Tipperary for rolling out these new pieces of performance art in the league to see what gets past the officials.

*Iā€™m adding this to my TFK lexicon

Iā€™d hardly say TIpp dismantled Wexford. At all to be honest. Wexford fucked up more so than Tipp took them. 3 very sloppy goals conceded and none from play at the other end with plenty more clear cut chances. Tipp absolutely deserved the win, they put up scores when needed and were clinical and far more economical with their chances, but ā€œdismantleā€ would give the impression they dominated from start to finish and unlocked the defence or found a way to counteract Wexfords play. That I would disagree with. Again, not to say they wouldnt do it with a full side, but there was fuck all between the sides on Saturday evening.

Iā€™d agree with this, the score line flattered Tipp.

Now Clare, they absolutely dismantled Cork but again the score line wasnā€™t fully reflective of this.

Wexford will beat Clare, Joe.

But itā€™s okay, ye will win the League.
