Hurling League 2018

Wexford are in Year 2 of their development under Fitz.

Waterford are years playing a system that probably undermines their core strengths.

In short, Wexford are profiting from the system compared to where they were before Fitz arriving.
Waterford seem to be very much at the same pace.

No mention of your moh/an fuck up. Sweep sweep .

You’re delusional

Jason Fordes goal > Supermacs boy goal.

Based on what?

jaysus you’d swear it was you who fucked up you are so rattled by the comment!

Bigging up the worst cork team ever

Ya agree somewhat re:Waterford.

But average Waterford still beat good Wexford in championship. Far superior hurlers.

But Davy has gone with his typical 2nd year approach. Repeat year 1 training load etc.

It’s doomed.

Plus Wexford lack clinical forwards. Bottom line that’s critical.

1st. I’m not bigging up.

2nd. They are a long way from that.

If you lived in mid 90’s or late 2000’s you’d know what you are saying is mental.

They won’t win AI. No doubt. But still more talented and dangerous than wexford

And Waterford have?

Not so wexford have beaten them twice now

Waterford are only at half pace so far this year. Similar to last year’s league.

They will be a completely different beast come summer

Absolutely compared to Wexford ya.

Nothing like the top 2.

But then therein lies the gap

Not doubting that at all.

But, imo if they don’t intergrate Thomas Ryan & Curran into the starting 15 and try to pose an actual danger as regards scoring goals then they are at nothing this year.
I actually think it would have been best for McGrath to move on.

Watching some of the games late last season & in this years League you can see his Selectors constantly in his ear on the line. It looks from my view that they are urging changes & switches but Derek looks very much like he will only do his own thing.
The style of play is far too predictable imo.

Now, having Devine back may give them a focal point at FF and a real other option as regards moving the ball in there faster & more direct.
But again, his Hurling would be questionable too.

Once 2 years ago when Cork were a shambles.

And this year they struggled over the line against them in the league.

Cork targeted KK so they could Rotate and experiment. They found out a few things so far I would suggest. Like Tipp and Waterford to a degree too.

I am not convinced Wexford are finding out a huge amount more than they amount ready know

What have Waterford found out?
Walsh Park is a shithole that doesn’t suit their style of play. :heavy_check_mark:
They haven’t a Full Back :heavy_check_mark:
The Sweeper system they play in being routed by all & sundry :heavy_check_mark:

People go on about a lack of goals but they had no problem banging them in against Cork or Kilkenny last year. They even managed 2 in the final.

Those conditions yesterday suited those Kilkenny mullockers rather than Waterfords stickmen

Who exactly has routed Waterford in a proper match bar Munster final 2016?

Fine score for a bunch of mullockers.

It’s the consistent bolloxing with short passing out from the FB & HB lines which is becoming slow & ponderous and also extremely predictable.
The amount of ball they turned over yesterday was or must be very worrying.

The setup seems extremely negative which is a pity as there are some genuinely brilliant hurlers on the panel.

What have they won?
