You can get a ferry to Bilbao which might possibly be a cheaper option if you are going to end up in San Sebastian anyway.
That’s the one I was looking at.

Have you any idea how much driving that would entail with two kids and a dog going loopy in the back. Where are you ferrying to - San Sebastian?
