ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 Qualifiers

Have started in Zimbabwe today. The last two spots in the 10 team tournament up for grabs. WIndies have been able to deliver pretty much their strongest team, so they will be strong favourites to take one of the places. Zimbabwe, Afghanistan and ourselves vying for the other position then, probably in that order of favouritism.

Ireland out on 268 against Netherlands. Rain delay during the innings break, so I expect a Duckworth Lewis adjusted target.

Target is 243 in 41 overs.

Meanwhile Scotland in a decent position to take a surprise victory over Afghanistan. 126/2 after 25 overs chasing 256

Netherlands 78/5 at the halfway mark of their 41 overs. Looking like it should be a comfortable victory for us there.

Scotland have pulled off the upset against Afghanistan, and with a bit to spare too.

We beat Scotland the other day in a challenge match when George Dockrell hit a 4 off the last ball.

Good day today for us if we can see off the Dutch.

93 run win wrapped up. Good day indeed

A big knock of 111 by Bill Porterfield looked to have us in cruise control against Papua new Guinea but a late collapse has us needing 20 off 30 with 4 wickets left.

cricket.

10 off 18 needed now. Gary Wilson and George Dockrell have steadied the ship.

3 needed off the last over guys, 4 wickets remain.

Wilson hits a 4 off the first ball and it’s all over. Ireland book their place in the super 6 and are 2 and 0.

Is that the next round of qualification or what?

Got 2 more group games then super 6. Top 2 at the end of super 6 qualify for world cup.

Zimbabwe just bate Afghanistan by 2 runs, an Afghan victory would have been better for us.

What’s these Cricket chaps problem anyway that they redesigned the competition to keep us out? Are we that annoying?

We ?

I remember I had a cricket set from the pound shop when I was younger. If the bat hadn’t broke off from the handle after a couple of days who knows how life could have turned out.

You could give me some pointers Julio, apparently I’ll be playing 6th grade cricket next year in a father / son team.
