Bardot interivewed today saying how she considered suicide on many occasions, that would have been some tragedy.

Have to say, I do like a lot of the 30s/40s/50s era ladies. Much classier than a lot (though not all) of the current crop.

Always had (still have) a crush on Olivia DeHavilland in her heyday. She often starred with Errol Flynn and those were some of my favourite movies.

Good stuff there Shadow.

Or own Maureen was a fair sort in her day as well.

Indeed.

I’m aware that the soft lighting of the period and the black and white film was a lot more forgiving that today’s detailed full colour shots, but even allowing for that they were som much more sublime. Less realistic perhaps but worth having a crush on.

Annette Bening, still fit for the auld ones thread, but in her day…

Britt Ekland

The lovely Polly from Fawlty Towers.

Good call Whiplash.

The Australian girl from the Psychiatrist episode.

A 48-year old Jane Fonda still looking good on RTE 1 now in the wonderfully titled “Agnes of God”. I think she may be my favourite actress of all-time.
