Blowy up there next to Camden and the GAA club( new soccer pitch up there :ok_hand:

They’ve a few trees around the main pitch that would give you some bit of shelter. A strong gust would take a skinny fella on the lower field

Everton’s place up at the airport was the worst field I ever played on for wind

There was a book written with a similar title, „The House by Lough Gur”?

Is the front of it still covered in ivy? Some spot on a sunny day

No. Some lady bought it and has been refurbishing. A new entrance driveway out near the old red cellar as well. I note the old stile on the wall to access knockfennell is being blocked and has warning signage. It may not stand the test of good weather

The Red Cellar was a great spot

Fairly blowy up there alright :flushed:

There’s a deluge of Biblical proportions incoming from the Aughnasheelin direction.

Last time I was in Crosshaven was with the Slua Muirì, the Naval Reserve. We were billeted up in Fort Camden and we’d walk down to Crosshaven for an evenings drinking. One night we bought a load of large bottles from the pub and sat outside to drink them. We had no opener so we paid a couple of tinker children a few Bob to open them with their teeth

Fort Camden… Camden town more like. It’s hardly Fort Worth.

It’s a proper fort bucko. I used to do sentry duty down at that gate.

Looks like a 1940’s asylum in fairness.
