Anything under 40 m/p when you’re in for the long haul is good drinking.
A nice steady pace there, well done.
Had to play a hurling match at 1pm today on top of it. Emptied here now.
Lager tops???
Craft lager I hope.
Staying off the top shelf makes a big difference
Ps that sort of a spree will set you back a few quid on your return to temple bar

Carling, you would have to drink tops over here especially if you are going to numerous pubs as the standard is very hit and miss
Carling is pretty strong too iirc. 5%?
I’d doubt it, 4% at most. Fairly easy to drink
Started at 1:30 for the second half of the Celtic game and got in a 3am. So I would say 20 lager tops in 13.5 hours which would work aout around 40 m/p
thats good drinking
Must be weaker than it used to be. Anything stronger than 4% is a foreign country to me these days. You know you are old when your choice of pub is based solely upon the quality of the Guinness. You certainly wouldn’t go the the station in didsbury for the raft of available talent or the sparkling repartee that’s for sure. The landlord is a decent Oul skin though and good crac, but the best customer there by and large.
Ps I started at 12 noon yesterday after a hard swimming session with the tri club, and an empty belly. I was utterly fucked by mid afternoon but staggered on gamely til about 7pm. Went home then with my tail between my legs. Had a pint with, among others, frank warrens son…
Also had a great chat with Simon Easterby. An absolute gentleman. Really nice genuine lad, happy to speak to you properly rather than give you the corporate brush off.
where abouts in Didsbury? I had a few rough nights down there, then onto stockport last year
Fuck me, Stockport!!! Is there any other kind of night there other than rough? Achieved number one spot in that legendary tome “crap towns”.
Station is next to aldi. Was taken over a year ago by a Donegal man. Keeps the rougher element in check very skilfully, and works to keep the Guinness pretty much as good as in an average pub at home. PM me if you are up this way again (not on a school night), last orders is a very grey area in the station.
a few questions
what are lager tops?
what is 40 m / p?
are we still talking about drinking pints?

A lager top is a pint of lager with a half an inch of lemonade added to it. It is a must do when drinking draft lager in the UK due to the quality of draft lager varies wildly from pub to pub. Makes a bad pint drinkable and gives some consistency

40 mins per pint. I believe Bandage is poking fun at the lads on the Marathon thread.
