Im Having A Problem With The Television

Do us a favour @Beautiful City

Locate the offending capacitor, remove it, plug in the TV, drop your kacks, shove your ‘sling*’ where the capacitor used to be.

Happy Christmas.

Sounds more like the giggling pin imo.

This is no laughing matter Carry. No TV at Xmas is serious.

The other one

Piss off you dumber cunt.

Sure see how they get on fixing it and get back to us.

Sounds like one of the older HD ready’s. Ready for the bin!
Only messing, She’ll run away for another few years after the caps are replaced.[/quote]

It’s not even two years old actually!Dodgy capacitors seem to be a common problem with Samsung TV’s.

Yeah it’s either the capacitors or a problem with the internal power supply.Thank god i had my old 21 inch 1994 television on standby to get me through the christmas period!Hopefully when the loan tele comes on Friday i can get back to playing all those ps3 games i bought for christmas!

Here is an update on this.Currys contract out their repairs to a company called Knowhow. There has been loads of complaints about this company about things like products taken extraordinary long times to get repaired. People are also complaining about things like returned so called repaired televisions that have had damaged and dirtied screens etc and then there taken away again to be repaired. Your supposed to have the right to claim for a replacement product but apparently you will have to go to hell and back to get one off them. I was waiting all day for my television to be picked up today.

I rang the helpline at 1pm and i was told the driver is on his way. I rang again at 4pm and they said that the driver would call me in the next 10 minutes. I didn’t get a phone call! I rang the UK based call centre again at 5pm and they put through to some woman in an office in Dublin. The woman didn’t sound overly friendly or helpful. She just said im sorry the driver had a break down earlier at midday and he won’t be able to collect your television today. Why wasn’t i told this at 1pm?(She spoke to me like i was a piece of shit stuck to her shoes.) He will come at 12 noon tomorrow instead. We’ll see how this one goes. Here’s some reviews of the Currys/PC World Knowhow service. I think im fucked tbh.

Is there a currys section on boards.ie. if there is then use that and use currys twitter account and you will get it resolved.

There used to be a page on boards.ie but they shut it down in August.Hopefully they might come and collect the TV tomorrow and we’ll see will there be anymore problems from that point onwards.I’ll resort to dealing with the Currys twitter page if i start having more serious problems.

Here is an update on the television situation! The tele got picked up but it’s being sent to the repair centre in the UK. Between that and the UK based call centre everything seems to be run from there. However they didn’t have the loan tele because apparently the Irish head office in Dublin are out of them. So i had to put in a request for one through the UK based call centre and they will let me know about that in the next few days. They said my repaired TV will be back on the 9th of January so we’ll see how that goes.I just hope that it doesn’t go an a magical mystery tour now!
