The TV is being picked up for repair on Friday but i want to try and find out what caused this problem.I know that the capacitors can fail on a Samsung TV after over a years usage so i have a feeling that’s what the problem is.Anyway i went out to the kitchen to have a bite to eat and the TV was working fine. When i walked back into the sitting room after 20 minutes it wasn’t so fine! The screen was blank and the red standby light which is normally at the bottom right hand corner of the television was off.I pressed the power button on my remote control. The red standby light would blink while i was pressing the buttons and then it would go off again. The tele is receiving power but the standby light is not staying on which makes me suspect that the TV is receiving no internal power. When i plugged the TV out the standby light just blinks for a few seconds. When i plugged the TV in again the red standby light would flash for a few seconds before failing again.I pressed the power button on the remote control and it was the same old shit. The light blinking when i was pressing the button before failing again.Im just wondering can this problem be easily sorted out or will i need to buy a replacement television?
.
Hmm… I wonder could there be a problem with your television maybe?
Sounds like the distribution board is fucked. You may as well throw the lot in the bin. It’ll never be the same again
How old is TV?
Get on to Samsung and retailer. Should do something for you.
Sounds like you blew the head gasket.

I was on to the stores 24/7 helpline about an hour ago and they will be talking it away to be repaired on Friday and i will be provided with a loan television while i await it’s return.I tried to bargain with them to come tomorrow to no avail! It was bought in April 2012 so it’s still fairly new.It looks like the capacitor is blown. How can the standby light stay on if the internal part of the tele is receiving no power.I have an Akai television that was bought in August 1994 and i’ve never had a problem with it.It’s still going strong!
If you’ve been watching re-runs of old Limerick games or Tom Ryan interviews it may well have decided to shut itself down as a protest.
Sounds like a scam mate. The loan one probably has a virus. Smash the fuck out of it.
Where the fuck is the laughing smilie when i need it!
Sounds like the PRO shaft is fucked in it
The last thing i saw on it was Davy Fitz being interviewed at the RTE sports awards.I guess the little man must have caused the circuits on the tele to overload!
Turn it off and turn it back on again
Paragraphs you dumb cunt
Yea, sounds like the caps are gone alright.
Sure see how they get on fixing it and get back to us.
Sounds like one of the older HD ready’s. Ready for the bin!
Only messing, She’ll run away for another few years after the caps are replaced.
Sounds like a simple flux capacitor problem to me, should be an easy fix. Wouldn’t be going buy a new one anyway
Thats what i was thinking
He said it was a Samsung, not a DeLorean!
Wrap it in a blanket then put it in the hot press. Take it out gently after about 2 hours and place it on the ground. While the blanket is still on it lay into it with a hammer. Then at least the broken glass is contained within the blanket.
I saw you do something similar with a mouse in the back garden a few years back. Happy Christmas Croppy. I presumed you were going to enlighten us as to how Martin O Neill had fucked up the telly on him.
