I'm on top of the world thread

I would guess a cot, a chest of drawers / changing table, and a wardrobe. At least thats whats in the 9 boxes currently sitting in chez mac.

My OCD would not have been able to cope without having all those things purchased and assembled at least a month before due date.

Don’t forget the sealable nappy bins btw.

I don’t have OCD but I like being prepared. I’ve been on google all morning looking at bits and bobs… Jesus it is overwhelming the amount of rig out you need for it.

I don’t know what she bought…

We’ve the buggy and moses basket done and sorted so if it comes early we’ll be ok for the first couple of weeks. The other stuff will all be done in due course.
As our little lad came two weeks early we had nothing only the “travel system” as we didn’t want all the stuff in the house and had to get a loan of a Moses basket.

We had to get Mamas and Papas to fast track our order and some of it came yesterday…only some of the stuff, 9 fucking boxes!!

They asked if they would assemble it for us. The thrifty Accountant qualification received all those years ago out in me and I said Id put it all together myself and keep the €45. Realising this disastrous mistake I rang them back to book them and they said someone else booked an assembly and they couldnt do it …Im now fucked.

I’ve told the Missus brother if he puts it all together ill by him pints for the night after it. It’s now going to cost a lot more than €45 and I’ve joined Rocko’s group in needing the in laws for these tricky tasks…

I would suggest you throw 200 notes (plus diesel) at @Boxtyeater and pray to god he is in your area this weekend.

Horrendous school boy error from you there mate, granted you are sleep deprived and you have a new found thriftiness as a recent new member of the fathers club.

This is not hanging a door territory mate… this is a 200 plus job.

if you need anything let me know

Don’t be sucked in by the fear, pass everything by the lads on here, we’ll see you right about what you do and don’t need.

you kept that quiet, when did you sign in to the father’s thread ?

I’m a dark horse me art

My younger lad split the older lad’s head open last night. There was a lot of blood. Their mother was panicked and talking about stitches

I remembered hearing one of those medieval battle re-enactment lads at a summer festival say a cut to the scalp produced a lot of blood and I relied on this medical knowledge by proxy which proved correct as it stopped bleeding very quickly.

All was well in the end and he went to bed wearing a Basil Fawlty style bandage around his head to “protect the pillows”.

Boys wreck your house, girls wreck you head.

don’t mind him…he just saw the recent baby boom on here in the last few years and wants in …he’s an insatiable appetite to be part of the gang…

i dont doubt him. maybe they named the baby after where it was conceived, cellar blue has a nice ring to it

Screwdriver and a hammer and nails.

a rogers kit, the must have new baby accessory?

isn’t the baby a bit young for drums ?

predictive text on the phone, texted EG and asked did he want a rovers kit for the baby, came through as rogers kit.

For some reason EG thought that you needed a drum kit for new borns . he texted back and said he already has one. When i called the next day he had actually went out and bought a rogers kit and he had it in the house. He swears that all new babies should have it as a gentle tapping is like white noise and helps them sleep

There is no fucking way that clown has a kid
