I wish it was O’Hara Red Ale @Mark Renton but alas no…
Boil the kettle
Let the water cool
Wash the 6 bottles
Sterilize the 6 bottles
add 6oz of sterile water to each bottle
add 6 evenly measured scoops of enfamil to each bottle
Use the Clevamoma mixer to mix each of the bottles
Cap the bottles and place them in the fridge to cool.
All in all takes about 20 minutes… every fucking night. I have it down to a fine art at this stage.
Oh no mate. Haven’t you read the latest memo, bottles cannot be made more than 3-4 hours in advance because of spores that begin to grow as soon as the powder is added to the water, making batches for 24hrs is 3 years ago.
The powder isn’t sterile so the whole sterilising thing is a charade. If you run them through a dishwasher they are as sterile as the washing and sterilising malarkey.
Now having said that I still sterilised them as my scientific analysis wasn’t going to stack up to the wife if one of the kids got sick due to my slovenly ways. I may be intelligent but I am no fool.

Why do you need a mixer. Can you not just shake them for a few seconds? Baby here still breastfeeding so no expert on bottles but did see Aptamil video endorsing 24 hour batches so I’d say you’ll be grand. @Ulterior Motive, the theory is that the hot water kills off any germs in the powder. Boiling water kills off the nutrients but if you make it up 30 minutes after boiling the kettle it still hot enough (70ish degrees) to kill off most bacteria (allegedly)

Shaking the bottles can cause too much air inside so baby gets full of wind and either can’t finish the bottles or suffers discomfort - so better stirred, so a public health nurse told me anyway

That is why you make the formula up in water that is above 70c to sterilize the powder.
